Sinchon Station × Recommended Accommodation for a Healing Solo TripHighly rated Hotel·Ryokan for Onsen and bath - 2Page Number

With many accommodations raising their prices, I was happy to find this rate with two meals included. I arrived with no expectations at all. I already knew from reviews that the parking lot was a bit far away, and indeed it was hard to find. My husband said that if we had arrived after dark, we probably would have struggled even more. I was surprised by the bottled wine offered with the all-you-can-drink alcohol at dinner—two large bottles of red and white were lined up and chilled. The beer was also nicely cold (and the mugs were ice-cold too), which was excellent. We enjoyed three kinds of soba—Sarashina, Shinshu, and thick black soba—as touji soba (if I’m remembering correctly), and it was delicious. What surprised me most was how crisp the blanched komatsuna greens were—they were cooked very well. Some places serve steak in the morning or bring out a huge platter of sashimi, but I think what really matters is the people. The dining staff were always attentive, moved efficiently, cleared tables while assisting guests when needed, and worked in a very pleasant way. The rooms are old, which can’t really be helped, but I’d like to come back again for the food.

I stayed here for business, and the location was extremely convenient—close to the station with many restaurants nearby. The room was neat and clean, making my stay very comfortable. The front desk staff were very kind and left a great impression. If I visit Matsumoto again, I would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much.

It was conveniently located near the station, making it an excellent choice for traveling with my elderly mother. The property was clean, and thanks to the good windows, we were not bothered by outside noise. We also enjoyed the view from our Room. It was a great base for sightseeing in Matsumoto in midsummer. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the Chinese dishes.

We arrived around 5:30 pm, and everyone was hungry, so we asked if dinner could be served from 6:30 pm, and they kindly accommodated our request. First, the bath. The facilities were very clean, including the changing area. Dinner had many dishes and was delicious. A young man was in charge of our table; although he seemed a bit inexperienced at times, we appreciated his sincere, hardworking attitude. The next morning, we all enjoyed another bath and then had a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of dishes. We used the local bus both ways. On the way there, we took a bus that arrived about five minutes late due to rain from the nearby bus stop, but when it passed in front of the inn, the staff waved to us—everyone was truly touched. It was a warm and welcoming place to stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a parent and child for my son’s university entrance exams. ■ Warm hospitality for exam takers At check-in, the staff asked, “Are you here for exams?” and gave us a small gift. My son, who was feeling nervous, seemed relieved by the thoughtful gesture, and I’m truly grateful as a parent. ■ Excellent amenities and a comfortable Room The amenity bar was well stocked—my son especially liked the bath salts and was able to relax. I also tried a face mask for the first time in my life! Even as an older guy (haha), it felt very refreshing after a bath. We were assigned a corner connecting Room, which allowed us to maintain privacy while still being close enough—making our stay extremely comfortable. ■ Great location It’s close to the station, with plenty of restaurants nearby, so we had no trouble at all even with a Plan without dinner. ■ A small suggestion for the future Winter in Matsumoto was drier than expected, so having hand cream among the amenities would make it even better! Thanks to the kindness of all the staff, my son was able to take his exam in great condition. We would definitely like to stay again when we visit Matsumoto. Thank you very much!

My friend from Chiba came to visit, so we stayed here! It was a perfect location for trekking at Utsukushigahara Highlands on the first day and visiting sightseeing spots around Azumino City on the second day. We booked a dormitory room plan with dinner and breakfast included, and both meals were clearly prepared with great care and were absolutely delicious. There was also a large public bath, and the room was spacious and spotless—perfectly comfortable for the three of us. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

I stayed here the night before a last-minute hiking trip. There’s a convenience store very close by, which was really helpful. Thank you.

Everyone at the Ryokan was very courteous, which was wonderful. As it was in season, I really enjoyed tasting plenty of matsutake mushrooms and other varieties. Dinner was a bit early, but it made the evening feel longer, which I liked. It also happened to coincide with the once-a-year festival, so I felt lucky. The hinoki cypress bath in the Room was also great. We stayed in the Pine Room, and for two people it felt very spacious. I had seen Reviews about shower issues, but on the first day hot water came after running it for about five minutes, and on the second day it worked smoothly right away. Water pressure was not a problem. There are a few stairs up to the Pine Room, so if you’re not comfortable with stairs, I think choosing a lower-floor Room would be better. I didn’t make it to the bar at night, but I caught a glimpse of it and it had an amazing atmosphere. It may be cold when moving around in winter, but I think that adds to its charm. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Matsumoto City. Thank you!

My husband and I visited Nagano on short notice. There were no reasonably priced twin Rooms at Hotels in Matsumoto, so we made a Reservation for two single Rooms. We were grateful just to be able to book, so we didn’t make any special requests, but you prepared adjacent Rooms for us. I truly appreciate your thoughtful consideration. Thank you very much!

The room was clean and well maintained, and the location—practically right in front of the station—was very convenient. Breakfast was delicious, with curry available as well, and there was plenty to eat. Our group of five friends booked separate rooms, and since there was no designated smoking area inside the hotel for smokers, they kindly changed our rooms to smoking rooms, which was very helpful.

Room: I’d appreciate a mirror at a comfortable height, or a tabletop mirror. Bath: The large hinoki-wood bath was very relaxing. Meals: The selection is minimal, but the breakfast offerings were exactly what I wanted and I was very satisfied. For the DIY fried egg station on the hot plate, it would be helpful to display an estimated cooking time—some guests were going back and forth repeatedly to check doneness. Amenities: Extra items are available at the front desk for you to take in a basket. They also had facial lotion, which was great. Location: Great. Other: There’s a wide variety of manga, and I was happy to reread Slam Dunk for the first time in a while. The building is older and doesn’t have that brand-new feel, but it’s a satisfying Hotel that gets all the important points right. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed here several times, but since it was Silver Week, I was assigned to the farther parking lot for the first time. It may be a little hard to find, but they do secure parking spaces, which was reassuring. The staff were very courteous, and the Room was spacious and clean, so I felt comfortable staying here. I’d definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here to visit Matsumoto Castle the next morning. It was closer than I expected, and it was very convenient that I could keep my car parked there even after checkout. The breakfast bread was also delicious.

The Room is clean, and the amenities are well stocked. The breakfast curry was very delicious. Convenience stores and restaurants are also just a 2–3 minute walk away, so there’s no problem.

Weekdays only: Early-morning curry from 6:00 to 6:30 It was very delicious. I’d love to have another serving.

The building felt a bit old, but it was very clean and comfortable. The service was excellent, and I would love to stay here again.

We used it as a touring base for the Venus Line. It is a homely Ryokan. Both meals were served in the Room, allowing us to enjoy them without worrying about others. We were able to savor delicious homemade dishes, including Shinshu beef. The bath was not large, but it was clean and comfortable. The cost performance is excellent. It is a Ryokan that makes you want to use it again next time.

I was able to rest well on the fluffy futon, just as described in the Review. I expected a 4.5-tatami Room, but they provided a 6.5-tatami Room instead. It was great to have free drinks, and the bath was available from night through morning. The Facility was clean and uncluttered, which made me feel at ease.

Although the rain and thick white clouds sometimes blocked the view completely, the views from the Room overlooking the town, from the restaurant, from the lobby in front of the front desk, and from the open-air bath were all wonderful.

Even with self check-in, the process was smooth, and it was great that everything from the entrance to the room was clean. I was slightly concerned that the futon sheets came off easily and that the pillows were quite firm.
