A new encounter, a single story. Kanbayashi Hotel Senjukaku. The story began with an encounter. It was in 1929 (Showa 4) when the first president of Nagano Electric Railway, Tohei Kozu, met Lieutenant Helseth from Norway. This meeting in Kanbayashi brought together European and Japanese cultures, creating an entirely new culture or space. It was a groundbreaking event where the culture of a Western-style Hotel was incorporated into a traditional Japanese-style Ryokan for the first time. Furthermore, this encounter became the prologue to the development of Kanbayashi Onsen and Shiga Kogen, now renowned as one of Japan's leading international resorts.

Additionally, our rooftop offers a private open-air bath surrounded by mountains, available for 40 minutes at 2,000 yen. A short drive will take you to Shibu Onsen or Shiga Kogen, and during summer months, Kusatsu Onsen is about an 80-minute drive away—making this area perfect for onsen lovers. In the winter season, the Property is located just a 0-minute walk from the slopes! While access to the Property is via a snowcat, you can immediately enjoy skiing and snowboarding. Additionally, the Property's own gymnasium and grounds are available for training camps and tournaments.
