Opened on September 2, 2007. Named “Masuichi Kyakuden” from the owner’s wish: “We would have loved to welcome you into our own home…”. Designed by architect John Morford—who also designed “Kurabu” and the main store of Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery—this Accommodation is his vision of where he would want to stay when visiting Obuse. Centered around three earthen storehouses relocated from a long-established sugar wholesaler in Nagano, it comprises seven wooden buildings, with interiors fully furnished in Western style.

The onsen at the property is built in a traditional all-Hinoki bathhouse style. The water is soft, warms the body from the core, and leaves the skin smooth. The cuisine primarily uses local ingredients, allowing you to experience the seasons of Northern Shinano. Additionally, the charm of Shibu Onsen lies in its onsen town. Why not wear wooden clogs and enjoy the Showa-era atmosphere along the stone-paved streets of the onsen town?

In addition to the snow season, the green season with its vibrant greenery offers activities such as trekking and mountain biking in Madarao Kogen. There are three types of rooms: Japanese-Western, Western, and Japanese, all non-smoking. We provide flavorful dishes prepared with local seasonal ingredients.
