A guesthouse renovated from a 140-year-old traditional Japanese house located in the heart of Shinshu Suzaka. A small guesthouse with only 4 Rooms. This town is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and spending a relaxing time. Convenient access to Zenkoji Temple, Obuse, and Togakushi. Travelers from all over the world, across Japan, and locals from Suzaka gather in the lounge. Opened on September 2, 2007. Named “Masuichi Kyakuden” from the owner’s wish: “We would have loved to welcome you into our own home…”. Designed by architect John Morford—who also designed “Kurabu” and the main store of Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery—this Accommodation is his vision of where he would want to stay when visiting Obuse. Centered around three earthen storehouses relocated from a long-established sugar wholesaler in Nagano, it comprises seven wooden buildings, with interiors fully furnished in Western style.
