Bessho Onsen is a villa area embraced by nature, ancient history, and historical sites, loved by many guests as a serene Onsen village alongside literary figures and artists. Renowned figures such as Shotaro Hanayagi and Matsutaro Kawaguchi have stayed at our Property numerous times. It is said that Kawaguchi decided on the title of his work "Aizen Katsura" during his stay here, inspired by the giant katsura tree near the Kannon statue. Kashiwaya Honten, with over a century of history, welcomes each guest with care, incorporating "Japanese elegance," "seasonal aromas," and "warm hospitality" into its architecture, cuisine, and service, offering a tranquil Japanese lodging experience.

A prime location for easily exploring historical sites such as Ueda Castle, the residence of Sanada Yukimura, and the post stations of the Hokkokukaido. Enjoy kaiseki cuisine meticulously prepared by the chef using seasonal local ingredients.

Private baths with both open-air and indoor options are a highlight. Opened in August 2023, enjoy the renowned "Bijin no Yu" hot spring in three private baths (free of charge) featuring an indoor bath and open-air bath overlooking a garden. For families, the Baby & Kids Plan offers in-room dining for breakfast and dinner. The special experience of staying in a glamping Room is also popular.
