Established in 1878 as Japan's first full-scale Resort Hotel in Miyanoshita, Hakone, Fujiya Hotel began with a single Western-style building constructed by its founder, Sennosuke Yamaguchi. Over time, through numerous expansions and renovations, it has become a grand architectural symbol of Hakone. Having overcome many challenges, including natural disasters, much of the building was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 1997. After more than two years of extensive renovations, the "new" Fujiya Hotel reopened in 2020. While preserving its timeless charm and design along with its spirit of hospitality, we continue to create new history as a pioneer among classic hotels to provide an even more comfortable and relaxing experience for our guests.

Bansuiro Fukuzumi is a historic Onsen accommodation in Hakone Yumoto, established in 1625 during the Kan'ei era, with its own private hot spring source. During the late Edo to Meiji periods, it hosted notable figures such as the 15th Shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu, Yukichi Fukuzawa, Hirobumi Ito, and Takamori Saigo. In 2002, it became the first active Ryokan to be designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. In addition to the private open-air baths in each guest room, there are five private baths, including Onsen, available on the premises. We are a small, unpretentious onsen property run by a couple. Utilizing Mount Fuji's lava, the synergy of far-infrared rays and the onsen warms the body to its core and leaves the skin smooth! The increase in body temperature boosts immunity! Private baths (for a fee) are also available.
