My daughter stayed here in June for her wedding. Hakodate is one of my favorite cities, and I have stayed at many Hotels there. This time, since we had the wedding, we were looking for a Hotel where she could relax as much as possible, so we chose this Hotel, which I had been interested in for some time because of its great Reviews. According to my daughter: The service was extremely courteous, the breakfast was delicious, and there were plenty of amenities and thoughtful items to enhance the stay (such as a coffee grinder and hair iron), making it very comfortable. Next time, I would love to stay here myself. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness.

This was my first stay, and I stayed in a wonderful Room renovated from a warehouse, where I could enjoy a Scandinavian atmosphere. Breakfast was also very stylish—cheese, bread, soup, and fruit—and I really enjoyed it. During my stay, the Hakodate fireworks festival happened to be on, so I was able to enjoy both the night sky and the night view of Hakodate. Over two days, I also went golfing during the daytime; it’s about 30–40 minutes from the Hotel, so I felt it’s perfect for a sightseeing + golf trip as well. All of the Hotel staff were very kind and attentive, and I truly appreciate all the explanations and advice they provided. I would definitely like to stay again.

This time we stayed in a special Room with a private open-air bath. The water temperature was comfortable 24 hours a day, the tub was spacious enough for two people to relax, and the cypress wood rim added a warm touch—I think I soaked in it about ten times. We also had three bath towels each, plus a wide towel rack to hang them, which made everything stress-free. One suggestion: I used the open-air bath around 7 a.m., but the direct sunlight was very strong. It would be nice to have something like bamboo blinds to block the sun. We also used the large public bath, and as with other Kyoritsu Resort properties such as Dormy Inn, it had plenty of washing space and was easy to use. And when it comes to Kyoritsu Resort, there’s the late-night ramen service. Since this is Hakodate, they offer salt ramen in addition to soy sauce ramen. We expected breakfast—known for being popular—to involve waiting in line, but thanks to the special Room privileges they reserved our preferred seating (such as semi-private booths or window seats) at a designated time. That was great. Of course, the meal selection lived up to its reputation. All drinks in the Room were free—including whisky—and there was also a sparkling water maker. Overall it was excellent. The price is high, but given how well-equipped everything is, we felt it was worth it. We’d love to stay again if possible.

I stayed for two nights with my daughter. All of the front desk staff were very friendly, making our stay comfortable. The location is great, and with welcome drinks and laundry facilities (free of charge), the value for money is excellent. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Hakodate.

The room lighting can be comfortably adjusted with spotlights, which was great. There are plenty of power outlets, and the long, narrow desk is also convenient. The lounge drinks and breakfast are very well stocked, and access to the streetcar is excellent. There are also many appealing shops nearby, which was a plus.

Although I’m from Hakodate, this was my first time staying here. 1) The location is excellent. 2) The Rooms in the nearly 100-year-old Bank building were quiet, and each Room was different; everything was very clean and comfortable. 3) The dormitory building and the Bank building are separate buildings. 4) The breakfast curry is made with carefully selected ingredients, making it both healthy and delicious. 5) Even though there is no elevator, they will carry your luggage for you. I highly recommend it to everyone.

After reading the Reviews, I wasn’t sure whether to choose the Main Building or the West Building, but I’m glad I chose the Main Building because getting to the baths and meals was smooth and convenient. The Room has been renovated, and it was great that the toilet is separate. The soundproofing is also solid, and everything feels clean. Even during Obon, we were able to have breakfast without any waiting time. You can also check how crowded it is from your Room—this really is a wonderful long-established Hotel. I appreciate all the efforts being made here, and I would love to stay again.

Above all, the location is excellent. The Red Brick Warehouses are just nearby. You can walk to the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway station, and it’s also a quick taxi ride. There is Ramen Ajisai right in front of the entrance. The bath was clean, and the hair dryers included Panasonic and Dyson. We were also able to try out different shampoo and conditioner. After the bath, there were probiotic drinks and ice pops. We enjoyed salmon roe at breakfast and were very satisfied. My husband especially enjoyed the desserts. We’d love to stay again.

You can stay in the former Soma family’s kura storehouse, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. It was an amazing experience. Since we usually live surrounded by excessive information and stimulation, being in a room with no TV or clock makes time feel like it flows more slowly. The location is also perfect as a base for sightseeing. Having the staff show us around the former Soma family’s main house was full of surprises and really enjoyable. We also visited the recommended local food spots and were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

There are often spots that get missed around the bathroom and in the corners of the Room, but this was the first time I’ve stayed in a Room that was cleaned so thoroughly. The staff member in charge of cleaning that day did an excellent job. Thank you very much. If I had to mention one thing, it would be nice to have a trash bin near the utility area.

A beautiful Hotel comprising a former Russian Consulate built over 100 years ago and, behind it, a newly constructed wellness wing designed by Makoto Nakayama. The staff kindly explained the building’s history and the vision behind its renovation into a Hotel, which made my stay even more meaningful. The Japanese elm towering in the garden that connects the old and new wings truly felt like a sacred tree, drawing the grounds into a serene world completely separate from everyday life. At the beautifully designed bar, I enjoyed Akkeshi oysters and a vodka cocktail. In the evening, I had sushi at Sushi-dokoro Funami inside the Hotel. The sushi and appetizers prepared by the head chef—who trained at Hakodate’s renowned Kihara—were outstanding; everything was fresh, high-quality, and delicious. Conversation with the chef and staff was also enjoyable, making for an unforgettable time. This time I stayed in a Room in the wellness wing. The view of Hakodate Port was wonderful, and even glimpses of blue sky from the courtyard were soothing. The Room also had a jacuzzi and sauna, allowing me to spend truly fulfilling time there. Breakfast featuring plenty of local ingredients was delicious as well. A book-shaped bread was served, and since I had been told in advance that this Hotel was produced by author Shiho Tanimura, it all made perfect sense. Every member of staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, with outstanding hospitality throughout. It felt like staying here could be the main purpose of a trip to Hakodate itself. I would love to visit again in another season.

This was a truly wonderful Accommodation, perfectly suited to Hakodate’s historic old town with its many heritage buildings. Both the bathtub and the bed were large and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary cooking utensils, so we bought local ingredients and cooked for ourselves. Just one point: Because the fireplace heat rises, the second floor was warm, but the first floor felt a bit chilly even with the heating on. We thought an electric carpet would have been nice. That said, both the exterior and interior were genuinely lovely, and it was very quiet with hardly any foot or car traffic, so we had a great stay. You kindly answered our questions by email many times before our stay, which made everything stress-free. Thank you very much.

I stayed at this accommodation last year and was impressed with the excellent service, which made both me and my dog very happy. This year, I had the chance to visit Hakodate again and stayed here once more. I was delighted that the owner remembered us! The amenities are so well-prepared that you can stay without bringing anything. Since only one group is accommodated per day, both my dog and I were able to relax comfortably. I would love to stay here again!

The location was perfect for sightseeing in Hakodate, and we loved the building’s atmosphere, the view from the Room, and how convenient it was to have a kitchen.\nWe stayed as a family of seven across three generations, and everyone was very happy.

There is nothing inconvenient about staying here. Although it is an unmanned Facility, even if any issues arise, support by phone and email is clear and courteous, so there is no inconvenience. With many restaurants in the area, it’s easy to find a place to eat nearby. In the morning, there’s also a bakery just a 2-minute walk away, so you can enjoy freshly baked bread. If the Hotel parking lot is full or feels difficult to use, you can use the paid parking lot across the street. The guest room is far better than it looks in the photos. An interior space where old and new enhance each other. You can also feel the attention to detail in the amenities. It’s a place that makes you want to come back for a Multiple Night Stay.

We stayed here as a family of four during summer vacation. A private rental Accommodation renovated from a traditional old house. The bathroom is spacious, the living room is roomy, and there are four bedrooms—up to 8 people can stay. It’s a bit far from Hakodate Station, but it’s located in the calm and quiet western district. The former Russian Consulate, the Foreigners’ Cemetery, and the docks are nearby, making for an enjoyable morning walk. The interior is clean and furnished with tasteful pieces that match the traditional house style, so you can spend a relaxing evening. The tram stop is about a 3-minute walk away, and there’s a MaxValu supermarket and a 7-Eleven nearby, so you can quickly get anything you need. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Hakodate. As for service, we had no contact with staff at all, and there were no complimentary drinks such as drip coffee or tea—everything was very simple—so I rated it 3.

We stayed as three families and used the Royal Suite, Comfort Fourth, and Superior Fourth rooms. The suite had high ceilings and was spacious, allowing seven of us to stay comfortably. Futons were already laid out in the Japanese-style room, so we could rest immediately after sightseeing in Hakodate, which was very convenient. The massage chair was especially appreciated by our elderly parents. The Comfort and Superior rooms were also spacious with sofas for relaxing comfortably. While a taxi is necessary to reach the Hakodate Morning Market, there is a streetcar stop nearby. The Red Brick Warehouse and Hakodate Ropeway are within walking distance. Although the front desk is not staffed at all times, they respond promptly when called. This Hotel is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy No Meals Included stays and have breakfast at the morning market! We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Hakodate!
