Directly connected to the Kyoto Central Wholesale Market via a second-floor passageway. The hotel also features commercial facilities that offer experiences of "food" and "craft." At the site of the former Kouroukan, a place where cultures once converged across the sea, enjoy a special moment.

Located near Shijo-Omiya, “Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki-dori” is a 23-room Ryokan created by renovating an L-shaped, approx. 1,400 m² alley lined with over 110-year-old machiya townhouses into a single Accommodation. The reception building at the entrance features a deep, distinctly Kyoto-style design, serving not only as the place to welcome guests but also as a small passageway connecting the outside world to the world of “Tsubaki-dori.” Beyond the reception building lies a streetscape reminiscent of an old hanamachi (geisha district), secluded from the outside. As dusk falls, lanterns and floor lanterns light up along the stone-paved street, and “Tsubaki-dori” takes on an elegant glow.

[Opening November 5, 2024] Hotel Utano Kyoto Bessho is located just a short drive from Kyoto’s top sights, including Arashiyama and the UNESCO World Heritage sites Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, and Ninna-ji, as well as the Kinukake-no-Michi walking route. With only 10 guestrooms, every room features a private Onsen bath. Choose from the Narutaki Main Building showcasing classic Shoin-zukuri and Sukiya-style design, an Art Deco–inspired Western-style building, or guestrooms that blend Japanese warmth with contemporary Western design.\n\nDine while overlooking the Japanese garden, where we serve a diverse selection of dishes centered on Japanese cuisine yet not limited to any single category—featuring seafood from Awaji Island (known as Miketsukuni) along with carefully selected ingredients from Kyoto and surrounding regions.\n\nEnjoy a spacious setting of approximately 1,000 tsubo (about 3,300 m²) and a Japanese garden recreated in the style designed and supervised by renowned landscape designer Mirei Shigemori. We have renovated the remaining 'Kyomachiya' in Kyoto, which are gradually decreasing over time. You can experience living in Kyoto by staying in this historic property. Additionally, at 'Kyoiroiriyado Some SEN,' we provide a traditional hearth as the name suggests. For the purpose of preserving the property, we use an electric hearth instead of fire. Please enjoy this warm and nostalgic space.

- "Time is a traveler passing through the ages, and the years that come and go are also travelers." - Tsukihi no Ie, named after a passage from Matsuo Basho's "The Narrow Road to the Deep North," is a machiya townhouse perfectly suited for savoring the essence of time. Inside this historic machiya, you'll find a multi-layered space that defies expectations from its exterior. Starting with a semi-basement level that was originally an air-raid shelter, the layers seamlessly connect through the doma (earthen floor), a living room facing the garden, the first floor, a mezzanine, and the second floor. Each level offers a unique space to relax and spend your time in your own way.
