Kyō no Yado Kagihei is located on Fuyacho Street in central Kyoto, near the Nishiki Market, which has supported Kyoto's culinary culture for four centuries. From Kyoto, we introduce a new lifestyle called “GOOD NATURE,” which allows you to incorporate healthy and beneficial elements into your life in your own way. In 2020, we became the first Hotel in the world to receive the “WELL Certification (v1),” awarded to buildings that prioritize environmental and health considerations. Our features include a green wall in the courtyard that replicates Kyoto’s vegetation and designs made with natural materials. We also offer a variety of activities such as yoga and meditation. Since our opening, we have aimed for a “sustainable, non-disposable society” by encouraging guests to bring their own toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and razors instead of providing them in guest rooms. (As of April 2022, amenities are available for purchase at the front desk, with proceeds supporting circular economy initiatives.)

This Hotel’s key advantages are its convenient location with excellent transport access, the Kamo River views from the windows, and spacious Rooms. Ideally located for getting around: about 15 minutes by taxi from JR Kyoto Station (Karasuma Exit). It is a 6-minute walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station, a 10-minute walk from Keihan Gion-Shijo Station, and a 6-minute walk from the city bus stop “Shijo Kawaramachi.” Another highlight of this prime location is that you can also reach us on foot from the stations while enjoying Kyoto’s scenery and strolling along the way. The property stands along the Kamo River, and our Kamo River View Rooms (riverside) feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows so you can fully enjoy the beautiful river view. Of our five Rooms in total, four are riverside Rooms with Kamo River views. In spring, you can see cherry blossoms in full bloom along the river; in autumn, vibrant fall foliage; and in winter, snow-dusted views of the Higashiyama mountains and Mount Hiei. From higher-floor Rooms, you can also watch Daimonji Bonfire (Gozan Okuribi). In addition—rare for buildings along the Kamo River—there is a rooftop terrace available for guests. The view across the river from the rooftop evokes Kaii Higashiyama’s painting “Toshi Kururu,” and you can also look out over Daimonji Bonfire (Gozan Okuribi) from here.

A fully renovated traditional Kyoto townhouse (Kyomachiya) located in the heart of Gion, Kyoto, offered as an exclusive one-group-per-day Property with a modern Japanese style. On the first floor, you will find an entrance adorned with beautiful stained glass and a living room with modern tiles, exuding the charm of the Taisho era. The second floor features a traditional Japanese-style room with exposed beams and slanted roofs characteristic of a townhouse, as well as a Western-style room equipped with beds.
