Sakamoto Hiei Yamaguchi Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The sashimi came with daikon carved into a crane, and there was also sekihan (red rice). Everything looked beautiful and tasted great, leaving both our stomachs and hearts full. All of the staff were wonderful and very considerate, which made our time here truly enjoyable. Thank you very much.

We visited with our dog to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthday. The staff were kind, and the Ryokan was welcoming to both people and dogs. We were very satisfied with the meals! The Room and the in-room bath were spacious and very comfortable. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation offered excellent value for money. The paid open-air baths at the neighboring Yumotokan were wonderful—especially the one farthest from this Accommodation. You get a panoramic view of Lake Biwa. I recommend enjoying it both while it’s still light out and again for the night view. It was fun visiting different baths around the property. I had seen a Review saying there was no elevator, so choosing the second floor was the right call. I couldn’t help eating the ice cream in the lobby. The meals were delicious as well. I didn’t have time to use the recreation room, but it had manga, massage chairs, a table tennis table, and more—it looked like a lot of fun. When I first entered the Room, there was a slightly unusual smell, but once I turned on the Plasmacluster air purifier I stopped noticing it. The Room was clean, so maybe it was related to the plumbing? The staff were pleasant, it’s great value for money, and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for your continued support. This is an Accommodation my mother loves, and we have stayed here many times after visiting our family grave in Kyoto. The staff are always wonderful, and although I make the Reservation on her behalf, I ask for various requests each time. After her stay, when I asked how the Accommodation was, she happily told me that this time she enjoyed all of the women’s baths. It seems she was also able to fully relax and enjoy the private open-air bath. We are grateful every time for the thoughtful care shown by your staff. We have a Reservation at year-end as well, and we would appreciate your kind attention to my parents again then.

The bath and Room were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were very kind. Both dinner and breakfast had just the right seasoning and portions, and everything was delicious. It would be perfect if breakfast included a small dessert bite and after-meal coffee. This was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again and recommend to friends. The building is old, but it felt clean. There were paintings displayed everywhere, which was lovely. The Hotel staff were also very courteous. However, after checking out, I stopped by again in the evening because I decided there was a souvenir from the Hotel that I wanted to buy. When I told a man at the front desk—someone I had not seen before—that I was not a guest with a Reservation for that day, his attitude felt a bit cold, so I deducted one star. The female front desk staff were all polite and helpful. Thank you very much.

The Hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. They contacted us the day before to Check Reservation, and their support at check-in and friendly greetings whenever we passed made us feel truly cared for. The view of Lake Biwa from the bath was also wonderful, making for a fantastic stay.

It was truly wonderful. The service exceeded my expectations. Once the renovation of Konpon Chudo is complete, I will visit again.
