Located just a few minutes' walk from JR Uji Station, our hostel offers an ideal location for exploring Uji's attractions, historical sites, and the pilgrimage to the sacred spots of "Sound! Euphonium." It also serves as a perfect base for visiting Kyoto City and Nara. Famous landmarks such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site Byodoin Temple, the natural beauty of the Uji River, and Ujigami Shrine are nearby, and it provides excellent access to the much-talked-about Nintendo Museum. With a space that combines traditional Japanese charm and modern comfort, we offer a relaxing stay for both tourists and business travelers. Come and experience the charm of Uji to the fullest.
"Kotton" (古っ都ん) is a term in the Nara dialect meaning "my home." We named it with the hope that you can enjoy the ancient capital of Nara 100% and relax as if you were at home! Stay at "Kotton" and fully enjoy the ancient capital of Nara, filled with World Heritage sites and National Treasures! Nara, where the old and the new mix together, is flowing with a new sense of time. Why not spend a day relaxing here? Kotton is as unique as its name. The owners, though elderly, are quite extraordinary—Mama is an active fortune teller, and Papa is a musician, making it hard to tell what their main profession is! However, they are always grateful for the warm support of many repeat guests. Having been in operation for over 40 years, some parts of the Facility may show their age, but we clean with heartfelt care to ensure your comfort. While we may not always provide perfectly polished, manual-based hospitality, we sincerely appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you!
"Kamenoi Hotel Nara" is a tranquil Onsen Hotel located adjacent to the "Heijo Palace Site," one of the components of the UNESCO World Heritage "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara." The Room options include a variety of types such as serene Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, and special Japanese-Western style rooms with private baths offering panoramic views. The large communal bath features an indoor bath with a soothing interior made of charred cedar wood, inspired by the ancient capital, and an open-air bath where you can relax and enjoy natural Onsen. Access to the Hotel is convenient, with approximately a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu "Yamato-Saidaiji" Station or about a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Nara Line "Nara" Station, allowing for multiple station options. When visiting Nara to immerse yourself in its history and culture, we warmly invite you to stay at our Hotel.
A Business Hotel about a 2-minute walk from the South Exit of JR Uji Station. Guest rooms feature deep green flooring inspired by Uji’s tea culture, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Conveniently located within walking distance of Byodoin Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the Phoenix Hall), The Tale of Genji Museum, and Mimuroto-ji Temple—ideal for sightseeing.
