Kintetsu Nara Station × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan for Onsen and bath

I came to Nara for the first time with my mother because we wanted to see Nara Park and the deer. We chose this Ryokan because it is close to Nara Park and has an in-room Onsen. I love traveling both in Japan and abroad, and when traveling domestically, I enjoy staying at Onsen Ryokan and wonderful Hotels. I have visited many places, but Fufu Nara was truly outstanding. Sightseeing was fun as well—we explored more than just the deer—and I would definitely like to visit Nara again, and return to Fufu Nara too. The staff’s hospitality was excellent; everyone was incredibly kind. The room and the Onsen were very clean and perfect. All of the food was delicious. We will be back.

I stayed at this Accommodation at the end of May. It’s close to the station, and it was a huge help that they could store my luggage before check-in and after check-out. Also, this is a Ryokan-style property where you take off your shoes when entering, but I really liked the system that lets you either bring your shoes to your Room or leave them in a locker (I really dislike places that take your shoes away at the entrance, and I usually avoid staying at Ryokan for that reason). The only thing I noticed was that there was no hand soap in the sink area of the Room (and none in the shower booth either). Since it was listed among the in-room amenities in the introduction video, I assume it was simply forgotten. Other than that, my stay was very comfortable—thank you very much.

It had been a while since we last gathered—this time, all our children and grandchildren came together to celebrate my wife’s and my birthdays. We chose a long-established Ryokan located at the gateway to beautiful Nara Park, just a 2-minute walk from Kintetsu-Nara Station—an ideal meeting point for our family coming from both the Kanto and Kansai regions. The Shosoin-inspired building we had often admired on the way to Nara Park turned out to be Kasuga Hotel. It was our first stay, and it proved to be a wonderful Accommodation that stands at the entrance to historic Nara Park. Here are a few memorable moments from our visit. With its major restoration now underway—the first in about 120 years since FY2022—Kofuku-ji Temple’s National Treasure Five-Story Pagoda will be something we look forward to enjoying again from our Room once the work is completed.

All staff were exceptionally kind and provided warm, heartfelt service. The French dinner was outstanding, from the presentation to every dish, and breakfast began with freshly baked croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice—both the Japanese set meal and the Western set meal were thoroughly satisfying. Conveniently located, this is a quiet, hidden-gem Hotel.

I used it because it has a natural Onsen. It is a relaxing bath. The bathing area is not too bright, but not too dark either, so you can unwind. Even older guests can feel at ease. Right in front of the station, with parking available (parking is charged separately). For this price, the quality felt like a great value.

We had been looking forward to our stay even before arriving. We stayed in a Room with a slide, and the kids were thrilled (an early elementary schooler and a 3-year-old). The Facility offerings were also excellent, so we had no trouble at all even with children (including a space where kids can play). They also organized a festival event inside the Hotel during our visit, and we joined that as well. All the staff were kind, and we felt their hospitality everywhere. The view from the rooftop terrace was wonderful (morning is recommended). During dinner, there was live music, and they included songs that children would enjoy, so it never got boring. Highly recommended for families with children. Of course, I think it would be a very satisfying stay for adults only as well. We will definitely return. Thank you very much for everything.

Because we enjoyed our previous stay so much, we came back again. It was convenient to leave our luggage at the information center in front of Kintetsu Nara Station. The Room had an even better view than last time, and my mother was delighted. We were able to relax in a private dining room for both dinner and breakfast. The meals were delicious as well. The Room was small, but it was more than enough for one person. It was my first solo trip in a while, and I had a very pleasant stay. The Room was thoroughly cleaned and felt very comfortable. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff explained everything carefully. They had a memory foam pillow at the exact same height as the one I use at home, so I slept very well. Breakfast was also delicious. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

It was my first time visiting Nara. I was very satisfied with my first stay at Kaze no Naramachi. The hospitality was wonderful in every aspect—from the service and the Room to the meals and thoughtful care. The weather was bad, so sightseeing did not go as planned, but I would like to stay again and fully enjoy what Nara has to offer. Thank you as well for the delicious sake.

It was a hot stay in Nara, but the property is close to Nara Station, with convenience stores and shopping facilities nearby, so we didn’t have to walk around much in the heat. The Room was clean, and it was great that the toilet and bathroom were separate. It was also helpful that we could store our luggage after check-out. We would like to stay again. Although it was very hot during our stay, we received a cooling bath additive at the front desk and were able to relax comfortably in the bath. You always come up with thoughtful touches, which makes staying here something we look forward to. The Room isn’t large, but it has a calm color scheme and is functional.

Before dinner, the second-floor gallery overlooking Mt. Wakakusa becomes a waiting bar, where you can relax while watching the deer heading home. Once guided to the first-floor restaurant, you are welcomed by the hearth and served—standing—local cucumber gazpacho, Yamato Nikudori chicken (a firm-textured gamefowl-type breed?) pinchos, and freshly made mozzarella kneaded right in front of you. After being gently drawn in at an unhurried pace, you are shown to your table. The course goes without saying: each dish showcases carefully selected ingredients with meticulous technique, paired with clear and thoughtful explanations. And finally, even the coffee comes as a surprise. The staff are friendly as well, with a comfortable sense of distance.

This was my first time staying here. Because it is near an intersection, it was difficult to enter the Hotel parking lot. The facilities were comfortable. I thought the shaved ice ticket included in the Plan would be just a small sample, but it exceeded my expectations and was a great value.

I have stayed here many times. Although it is an older Accommodation, the Room and baths are always kept very clean, which makes for a very pleasant stay. The staff are attentive and considerate while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance—truly a wonderful Accommodation. The early-summer dishes this time were also delicious. They looked refreshing and beautifully presented. I would love to visit again in winter. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation is in an excellent location for sightseeing in Nara, so this was our second stay, this time to visit the Nara National Museum. From the moment we arrived, the parking guidance was very courteous, and the Room was spotless. The large public bath was also clean. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and had a very pleasant stay. After checking out, the staff member who first assisted us even came out of their way to see us off, which made both my husband and me truly happy. I think this is a wonderful Accommodation filled with warm hospitality and thoughtful care.

This was my first stay, and I was very satisfied with the outstanding value for money. Above all, I was surprised that a Hotel in this price range offers access to a rooftop terrace bar, and it was wonderful to relax while taking in the views of Nara’s cityscape. The room was clean and well equipped, and the staff were polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable stay. The location is also convenient and ideal as a base for sightseeing, and I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nara.

This was my first stay. The Room was comfortable, and the food was delicious. There was a stargazing and night view watching program, and I joined it. Unfortunately, it was cloudy so we could hardly see any stars, but we were able to enjoy the night view of Nara. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay again.

The greenery from the Room was beautiful. On the way to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, seeing the river and small waterfalls was refreshing. The meals were just the right portion, and we enjoyed them along with the tableware. The bath temperature was perfect, and the scent of wood was soothing. Thanks to the thoughtful staff, we had a wonderful stay. We think it would be even more lovely during the autumn foliage season. Thank you very much.

Given the price, I didn’t expect much, but it was wonderful. The location is near Kintetsu Nara Station and very convenient for convenience stores, restaurants, and sightseeing (with a nearby bus stop). The bed and Room were spacious and more than sufficient. Whenever we needed help, pressing the staff button brought prompt, efficient, and friendly assistance. Breakfast had a carefully selected variety of items and was enough for us. Considering the location, this quality at this price is simply excellent. I will stay here again when I visit Nara. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. Since sightseeing can be tough in the summer heat, this was a trip with my daughter planned to fully enjoy the newly renovated Nara Hotel. It was reassuring that the classic, dignified interior remains unchanged. At the same time, features such as the bathtub in the Room were up to date, making our stay very comfortable. We were able to relax and forget about the heat outside while enjoying afternoon tea at Mikasa and breakfast. Next time, I’d like to invite my husband as well and plan a trip simply to unwind.
