Mikawa Toba Station × Hot spring × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

Thank you very much for taking such great care of our son and his wife and for all your wonderful hospitality! They were both very happy, and I’m sure it became a lovely memory for them!

We were able to relax in a quiet setting surrounded by nature. The spacious open-air bath attached to the Room was very comfortable, and we could unwind in the Onsen water. The amenities (especially ReFa) were excellent. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the Room at a leisurely pace with our family.

We stayed during the Obon holiday. The Room was spacious, the meals were delicious, and my elderly mother was very satisfied. All of the international staff were kind and played with our children.

It was wonderful. The Ryokan always had a pleasant incense fragrance throughout the building, which helped us relax. We even bought some as souvenirs. The staff member who explained everything during our meal was very courteous, and it truly warmed our hearts. We also used the private open-air bath, and it was great to be able to spend a relaxing time with our family. This is a Ryokan we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

The Room had a great layout, especially the spacious, easy-to-use closet. The sofa by the window was also roomy and very comfortable, making the stay truly relaxing. Also, the “Tamatebako” in the dinner menu was carefully prepared item by item. We enjoyed it in order from the appetizer to the vinegared dishes, and everything was delicious. I especially loved the clam dobin-mushi. The eel kamameshi was tasty, but I would have liked a bit more eel. Thank you for your hospitality.

Natural Onsen baths and a wide variety of delicious dishes. It feels like a luxury Onsen Hotel from Japan’s Showa bubble era. There are older and newer wings, and from everywhere we enjoyed stunning views of the calm, rolling waves of Mikawa Bay. The lighthouse was charming and atmospheric. The many sets of Mikawa samurai armor and bridal kimono also gave us a sense of the history of Katahara Castle from the Sengoku period. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

The breakfast buffet was a big hit with my family! The bath was also wonderful. On our way home, I realized at Gamagori Station that I had left my wallet on a sofa on the first-floor lobby of the Hotel, and I panicked and called. A kind guest turned it in to the front desk, and a staff member even brought it to the station. I’m truly sorry for the trouble, but your kindness saved our trip. We will definitely stay again next time. Thank you very much.

I was able to relax in a clean and spacious Room. Above all, the staff were kind and attentive wherever I went, which made my stay very pleasant. I also appreciated being able to adjust the portions of rice and miso soup myself. I would like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

We stayed here with four generations of our family, including our elderly parents. The Room was spacious and very relaxing. Our grandchild loved the kids’ room and played to their heart’s content. The open-air bath in the sky had an amazing view and was wonderful. All the staff were kind, making it a great Accommodation. Thank you very much.

The staff were very pleasant, and overall we were very satisfied. I was a bit concerned about some dark staining around the sinks in the large public bath changing area (it seemed clean and well maintained, though). My grandchild wanted to play table tennis, but it was only available until 9:00 p.m., so we couldn’t, which was disappointing.

It was conveniently located close to Laguna Ten Bosch. We stayed in a Room with a private bath. The view was great, and the bath felt open and airy and was very clean—our children were delighted. The staff were very helpful, and the welcome services were also excellent. The meals were delicious, and the children’s menu was thoughtfully planned with good nutritional balance, which was wonderful. It was an Accommodation we would like to stay at again. We had a wonderful stay. The open-air bath was a very calming space, and we were able to relax while listening to the sound of water and insects. The shampoo was also comfortable and didn’t leave our hair feeling squeaky. The Ryokan itself was spacious and felt like a maze, making it fun to walk around as if exploring. The barley tea and apple rooibos tea after the bath were also a thoughtful touch. I hadn’t been reading much for quite some time, but using the “Kotoba no Atelier” inspired me to make time for reading again in my daily life after this stay. I also wrote a Tokitegami letter and had a lovely time. Breakfast was buffet-style and everything was delicious—especially the fruit punch. Before breakfast, I ground coffee beans for drip coffee, which was also excellent and made for a very fulfilling experience.

The Room was well stocked with amenities. The view was great. For dinner and breakfast, you can choose from a wide variety of options.

I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen within two hours from home. I could enjoy the sea and the Onsen, and the meals were served as a kaiseki course rather than a buffet, so I was able to dine calmly and at a relaxed pace. All of the staff were very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. My grandchild and daughter who came with me were also very satisfied. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again.

As you drive up the winding mountain road with hairpin turns, you’ll eventually spot the Hotel at the top. With expectations rising for a great view… Once inside, the large lobby windows more than delivered, offering a breathtaking panoramic view over Mikawa Bay. In the Japanese-style Room, two beds had been set up—an appreciated touch for us as an older couple. Of course, the view from the Room was spectacular as well. The large public bath had both an indoor bath and an open-air bath at just the right temperature, and it felt wonderful. I wanted to stay in forever, so I cooled off now and then by splashing lukewarm water or cold water on myself to avoid overheating before soaking again. (Laughs) Dinner featured Aichi beef sukiyaki and abalone steak. Both were so delicious I wished I could have eaten more—but after finishing everything served, I realized it was actually the perfect amount. These days buffets are common and I often end up overeating, so having table service in a restaurant like this felt calm and healthy. Okazaki Castle is also about an hour’s drive from the Hotel, and I was happy to be able to reflect on Tokugawa Ieyasu’s legacy there. Within the castle grounds, Mikawa Bushi no Yakata: Ieyasu Museum is thoughtfully designed with well-planned exhibits—I’d love to visit again at a slower pace.

Dinner offered a wide variety of dishes and was delicious overall, so the meals were excellent. The room was spacious and satisfying; however, there was a slight lingering smell of dog urine, which may be unavoidable. The dog run was not crowded, which was great.

The price, service, and facilities were all very satisfying. We visited with our 3-year-old son and used the private bath for 45 minutes, which offered an amazing view. It made us strongly want to visit again. The room we stayed in did not have a bath or shower, and some amenities were paid as mentioned beforehand, so we had no complaints during our stay. The service was excellent, and we are very happy to have found such a great accommodation.

I was able to relax in a Room with a different atmosphere than usual. It was my first Multiple Night Stay, and this Hotel provides daily cleaning, so I stayed very comfortably. At other Hotels, cleaning during a Multiple Night Stay wasn’t done unless I requested it, so this felt refreshing. However, since I couldn’t leave my belongings out, I needed to put everything back into my bag each time (though it’s just putting them away).

I warmed myself to the core in the Radium Onsen and had unadon for dinner. The eel was plump and generously placed on the rice, making it more delicious and satisfying than ever before.

I’d been interested in this Accommodation for a few years, and finally had the chance to stay here! First of all, the beach is literally right in front of you! There’s also a changing room with showers, which was really helpful. I also appreciated being able to use the parking lot even before check-in. The building itself may be old, but it was clean and well maintained. The meals were delicious and just the right amount. The bath was great too, especially with an open-air bath. If I go to Kira again next year, I’d love to stay at Yamato again. Thank you very much.
