I chose this ryokan in Chita because I wanted to enjoy fugu, and their fugu dishes were introduced on the site. My room was upgraded, and during this season, I could see both the sunrise and sunset from the room, making it a truly wonderful experience (I uploaded photos of the sunrise and sunset). Yesterday, there were reportedly over 100 guests staying here, but today it was just us. We had the luxury of enjoying the onsen all to ourselves. I imagine yesterday must have been extremely busy for the staff like a "battle," so we felt grateful yet slightly apologetic for being able to enjoy such a calm atmosphere today. The hostess was very friendly and chatted with us during mealtime, allowing us to relax and have an enjoyable time. The onsen features a unique "stone bath" design where water flows beneath stones, creating a serene bathing experience. The indoor bath is slightly hotter while the open-air bath has just the right temperature—perfect for those who prefer either hot or milder baths. Personally, I loved the temperature of the open-air bath; it was perfect for me! The natural fugu we came here for was absolutely delicious as well. Overall, this accommodation offers a relaxing stay with plenty of time to unwind at your own pace!

Dinner features a full-course pufferfish meal. Breakfast includes freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot, thickly sliced grilled salmon, shaved bonito flakes (a rare treat these days), fluffy rolled omelet, large soft pickled plums, lightly pickled cucumber and daikon radish, and more—showcasing attention to both ingredients and hospitality.

This was my first stay here. Because the price was so affordable, I honestly didn’t expect much—I just hoped to enjoy the Onsen, have some delicious food, and relax—but it was far better than I imagined. All of the staff were very kind and welcoming, it felt comfortable, the Room was kept clean, and both the Onsen and the meals were excellent. The weather wasn’t great, but we had a full view of the ocean right in front of us—an amazing景色. I would definitely like to stay again!

Natural Onsen baths and a wide variety of delicious dishes. It feels like a luxury Onsen Hotel from Japan’s Showa bubble era. There are older and newer wings, and from everywhere we enjoyed stunning views of the calm, rolling waves of Mikawa Bay. The lighthouse was charming and atmospheric. The many sets of Mikawa samurai armor and bridal kimono also gave us a sense of the history of Katahara Castle from the Sengoku period. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

It had been a while since I found a Ryokan that made me think, “I want to come back.” The view of Mikawa Bay right in front of us was truly stunning, and the sunset while soaking in the Onsen was unforgettable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, which made our stay feel comfortable and worry-free. We stayed with two dogs and our 1-year-old child. We were worried because we had a lot of luggage, but since we had requested a dog stroller in advance, we were delighted to see one at the entrance with our dogs’ names on it. The dog-first hospitality was wonderful, and the Room was well stocked with amenities for our dogs. We could also dine together, and we were able to relax comfortably. Above all, the staff’s kind attentiveness helped soothe the fatigue from our long journey. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again.

The Room’s open-air bath was wonderful. The meals were more than enough for women; men might find them a bit light, but for those who drink alcohol, I felt they were sufficient. I think it would be better if breakfast times were staggered. The staff’s sense of distance also felt very comfortable to me. Sorry to mention this at the end. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed delicious meals in the Room, and we were happy to be able to take our time and enjoy them. However, the toilet lock malfunctioned repeatedly, and it was also difficult to understand how to use the in-room safe. Thank you for providing a spacious Room near the elevator for my mother, who has difficulty walking.

The price, service, and facilities were all very satisfying. We visited with our 3-year-old son and used the private bath for 45 minutes, which offered an amazing view. It made us strongly want to visit again. The room we stayed in did not have a bath or shower, and some amenities were paid as mentioned beforehand, so we had no complaints during our stay. The service was excellent, and we are very happy to have found such a great accommodation.

I warmed myself to the core in the Radium Onsen and had unadon for dinner. The eel was plump and generously placed on the rice, making it more delicious and satisfying than ever before.

They promptly picked us up when we called from the port. The Room was upgraded for free as there was availability, and it was spacious and comfortable. It was also clean and well-maintained. The view from the bath was open and beautiful. For dinner, we enjoyed fresh sashimi, grilled small sea bream with salt, octopus shabu-shabu, boiled whole octopus, stewed large clams, tempura of a large conger eel, and octopus rice—all served freshly prepared in order. Everything was delicious. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes that were all tasty; we ate everything and were completely full. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality!

I had so many questions that I ended up calling several times, but each time they kindly and carefully answered me, which left a great impression even before we arrived. There was a shower in front of the entrance to rinse off sand, plus space to dry float rings and sandals. On the rooftop there was also a washing machine and an area where you can hang laundry right away, so even if you go swimming two days in a row, there’s nothing to worry about. They even laid mats all the way to the bathroom so it was fine to come in wearing swimsuits after the beach—this Accommodation was truly a lifesaver for families with children! It looked like it might be a bit far from the beach on Google Maps, but it really wasn’t at all. The price was reasonable, and everything was set up to be so comfortable that we’d love to make this our annual summer vacation tradition!

The seafood dishes were exceptionally fresh, served with restaurant-quality tableware and presentation. The entire property was spotless, and it was clear that the hostess and staff clean thoroughly without cutting corners. Before visiting Himakajima, I researched accommodations and found that the reviews were not very favorable, so my expectations were low. However, the staff at the accommodation were all incredibly hospitable, providing exceptional service throughout my stay. While it was not an onsen, the large public bath was spacious and relaxing, offering a similar experience with views of Ise Bay and Mikawa Bay. The sunset from the room was extraordinary—a scene reminiscent of a novel's opening line describing "a magnificent twilight," visible across the peninsula. The only disappointment was hearing that octopus catches have been poor recently. I look forward to visiting again when I have another opportunity.

The building is old but kept clean, so there were no issues. The bath includes an open-air bath where you can relax while enjoying the night sky and ocean in a private setting. Dinner was very hearty, featuring Chita beef, Ise lobster, sashimi, sushi, and octopus rice—truly satisfying. The buffet-style breakfast was also delicious. The staff at the accommodation were extremely kind. The fluffy and warm futon was excellent as well. The return shuttle service felt like a thrilling roller coaster ride!
