We were able to relax in a quiet setting surrounded by nature. The spacious open-air bath attached to the Room was very comfortable, and we could unwind in the Onsen water. The amenities (especially ReFa) were excellent. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the Room at a leisurely pace with our family.

It was just after the Obon holidays, but the timing worked out and I was able to stay. The shower pressure and temperature in the bath had been properly fixed, so even during my morning bath I could freshen up quickly. I enjoyed the standard meal, and as always, the beer was nicely chilled. They also let me bathe after checkout, so I was able to fully enjoy the Accommodation. Thank you again this time. I will stay again.

We stayed here with four generations of our family, including our elderly parents. The Room was spacious and very relaxing. Our grandchild loved the kids’ room and played to their heart’s content. The open-air bath in the sky had an amazing view and was wonderful. All the staff were kind, making it a great Accommodation. Thank you very much.

All of the dishes were delicious, and the shabu-shabu and shellfish dishes in particular were outstanding! We could really taste the quality of the ingredients, and we were very satisfied. It was wonderful. The Ryokan always had a pleasant incense fragrance throughout the building, which helped us relax. We even bought some as souvenirs. The staff member who explained everything during our meal was very courteous, and it truly warmed our hearts. It had been a while since I found a Ryokan that made me think, “I want to come back.” The view of Mikawa Bay right in front of us was truly stunning, and the sunset while soaking in the Onsen was unforgettable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, which made our stay feel comfortable and worry-free. The meals, centered around seafood, were all delicious and very satisfying in portion size. The fresh sashimi especially left a lasting impression. I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen within two hours from home. I could enjoy the sea and the Onsen, and the meals were served as a kaiseki course rather than a buffet, so I was able to dine calmly and at a relaxed pace. All of the staff were very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. My grandchild and daughter who came with me were also very satisfied. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again.

As you drive up the winding mountain road with hairpin turns, you’ll eventually spot the Hotel at the top. With expectations rising for a great view… Once inside, the large lobby windows more than delivered, offering a breathtaking panoramic view over Mikawa Bay. In the Japanese-style Room, two beds had been set up—an appreciated touch for us as an older couple. Of course, the view from the Room was spectacular as well. The large public bath had both an indoor bath and an open-air bath at just the right temperature, and it felt wonderful. I wanted to stay in forever, so I cooled off now and then by splashing lukewarm water or cold water on myself to avoid overheating before soaking again. (Laughs) Dinner featured Aichi beef sukiyaki and abalone steak. Both were so delicious I wished I could have eaten more—but after finishing everything served, I realized it was actually the perfect amount. These days buffets are common and I often end up overeating, so having table service in a restaurant like this felt calm and healthy. Okazaki Castle is also about an hour’s drive from the Hotel, and I was happy to be able to reflect on Tokugawa Ieyasu’s legacy there. Within the castle grounds, Mikawa Bushi no Yakata: Ieyasu Museum is thoughtfully designed with well-planned exhibits—I’d love to visit again at a slower pace.

Natural Onsen baths and a wide variety of delicious dishes. It feels like a luxury Onsen Hotel from Japan’s Showa bubble era. There are older and newer wings, and from everywhere we enjoyed stunning views of the calm, rolling waves of Mikawa Bay. The lighthouse was charming and atmospheric. The many sets of Mikawa samurai armor and bridal kimono also gave us a sense of the history of Katahara Castle from the Sengoku period. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

The price, service, and facilities were all very satisfying. We visited with our 3-year-old son and used the private bath for 45 minutes, which offered an amazing view. It made us strongly want to visit again. The room we stayed in did not have a bath or shower, and some amenities were paid as mentioned beforehand, so we had no complaints during our stay. The service was excellent, and we are very happy to have found such a great accommodation.

The staff were very pleasant, and overall we were very satisfied. I was a bit concerned about some dark staining around the sinks in the large public bath changing area (it seemed clean and well maintained, though). My grandchild wanted to play table tennis, but it was only available until 9:00 p.m., so we couldn’t, which was disappointing.

I’d been interested in this Accommodation for a few years, and finally had the chance to stay here! First of all, the beach is literally right in front of you! There’s also a changing room with showers, which was really helpful. I also appreciated being able to use the parking lot even before check-in. The building itself may be old, but it was clean and well maintained. The meals were delicious and just the right amount. The bath was great too, especially with an open-air bath. If I go to Kira again next year, I’d love to stay at Yamato again. Thank you very much.
