The welcome herbal water drink was delicious—absolutely amazing!! This is truly a tropical paradise, a Resort Hotel. The view from the ocean-view Room was breathtaking—it really felt like “time, please stop!” As we left the Hotel from the parking lot, a handsome front desk staff member waved goodbye, which left a wonderful impression. It was an excellent Hotel that made us want to come back.

I had been planning a trip to Kagoshima for some time, and choosing Shusuien was absolutely the right decision. It’s in a great location close to the sand bath I wanted to visit, and the service was outstanding—there was nothing to complain about, including lending me a parasol. Thank you very much.

On the recommendation of an acquaintance who lives in Ibusuki, I stayed here in March and April this year. What stands out most about Ginsho is the delicious food! In addition to fresh local sashimi, the freshly fried Satsuma-age was exceptional. The seasoning was not too strong, and the portions were just right. The Onsen water quality was also excellent. I was able to relax and unwind.\n\nThe friendly and wonderful proprietress, whose warm personality truly shows in her smile, took great care of me. All of the staff were kind and provided very pleasant service. I will visit again soon. Thank you very much for everything!

I made a Reservation because of the highly praised meals. It was great to have plenty of sashimi, and I also ordered extra kibinago sashimi. Even without any add-ons, both the quality and quantity were satisfying. From the Room, you get an unobstructed view of Kagoshima Bay and the Osumi Peninsula! It would have been even better if the open-air bath were right by the sea, but the Onsen itself is excellent, so I can live with it. During my stay, the shared sand-steaming bath was under renovation, but they kindly guided me to a Facility at a nearby Hotel instead, which was very helpful. This should definitely be on your list when visiting Ibusuki.

A small Accommodation—very affordable. It was the only Reservation I made before setting off on a long trip. The Room was clean and more than sufficient for a solo traveler, and the Onsen was wonderful. I finally made it to Ibusuki, and the next day I was also able to reach the summit of Mt. Kaimon, which I’d been hoping to do for a long time. I’ll stay again.

The all-you-can-drink welcome drinks were fantastic. Draft beer, highballs, chuhai, and more. A variety of soft drinks is also available for children. It was a great way to unwind after a long drive. When you think of Ibusuki, you think of the sand bath. They also explain what to do afterward if you get sandy. You wear a special gown and the staff covers you with sand. The service was very courteous, and we were extremely satisfied. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed as a family of four during the year-end holiday. When we informed our arrival time by phone, the owner warmly welcomed us with a set of welcome drinks prepared accordingly. While enjoying the drinks at the café on the first floor, we completed our check-in process and received recommendations for nearby dining spots and onsens, which showed their love for Ibusuki. The building is old but very well-maintained, with everything we needed like a kettle and coffee maker readily available, making it highly satisfying. The view of Kinko Bay from the window was also beautiful. We were especially grateful to enjoy authentic coffee during our trip. We used the in-room coffee maker to prepare coffee and poured it into our travel pot to enjoy during our drive. Although we only stayed for one night, I felt that it would be enjoyable to spend more time here as a base for exploring Ibusuki with family or friends at leisure. We only had a brief conversation with the owner during check-in, but they were kind and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed despite being tired and anxious from traveling—bringing us great comfort. I chose this Accommodation because I enjoy visiting Poké Lids and also wanted to try a sand bath. What ultimately convinced me was that every Review I read was highly rated—and I’m truly glad we stayed here. I completely understand why the ratings are so high. All the meals were delicious, the staff had such a pleasant atmosphere, and the Room was kept very clean, so we were able to relax comfortably. (We also went to the liquor store you recommended and bought lots of drinks. Thank you!) Since our child is still small, we used the bath in our Room as well—it was spacious and easy to use. Thank you for your thoughtful touches such as a diaper trash bin, baby soap safe for infants, and wet wipes at the dining area. There were plenty of picture books too, which made our child very happy, and it allowed us parents to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. My favorite part was the Onsen. The moment I got in, it felt strangely like the water clung to my skin, and even the next morning my skin felt moisturized. It also seemed to have great heat-retention—I stayed warm for quite a while after bathing, which felt wonderful and helped relieve my fatigue. I also appreciated having various shampoos and body soaps available—it was fun to try different ones. We’d love to visit again once our child is old enough for a sand bath. We enjoyed a peaceful lake, soothing birdsong, and time that felt like a world away from everyday life.

The building is designed so that you wear sandals to move between the front (dining area), guest rooms, and bath. Although it is an Unagi Onsen, the water is not slimy. Recently, the water temperature has been too low, so there is a silver mat for insulation in the bathtub, which you remove before entering. It may feel a bit lukewarm, but it warms the body very well. Overall, the cleaning is thorough, and you can feel the little touches of care from the property throughout, with a water server, hairdryer, and refrigerator placed in the hallway. The meal might look a bit insufficient, but with a rice refill, I was full. Since it is an old-fashioned building, you can hear the sound of doors opening and closing and footsteps in the hallway quite clearly. The shared toilets in the hallway, separated by gender, have one large, one small, and one washbasin inside when you open the door. If there are many guests, it might feel crowded or noisy, but this time there were only two groups on the second floor, so we could relax.
