The food was absolutely delicious. We were also very satisfied that the private Onsen bath was available 24 hours a day. The hostess kindly told us about nearby sightseeing spots, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We would love to visit again with my husband.

At IKYU, it was categorized as casual, but we enjoyed a luxurious Onsen experience that felt like staying at a private villa. The Room had a spacious washroom, and the toilet being separate was also convenient. The heater in the Room was turned on in advance, so we stayed warm without needing to use the air conditioner. Various thoughtful touches were noticeable throughout, and I heard that adjustments are made regularly. It had such a pleasant atmosphere that made us wish to stay longer. Here are some points of concern: It would be helpful if spare foot mats were provided for the private bath so they can be replaced after use. The abundance of wash towels was very convenient. A single fresh flower in the Room would add charm since there were flowers in the dining area. During meal service, providing more details about local ingredients or cooking methods would be appreciated by travelers—it may require extra effort from staff but makes for enjoyable conversations while savoring meals. Having a menu list would also enhance the dining experience further.

While browsing Reviews for an Accommodation where we could stay with our pet, natural Onsen, and dining options, we found Takakatsu and decided to stay there. The hospitality, guest room, water quality, cuisine, and the Onsen town—all were more than satisfying. However, while the amount of food was sufficient for us as a couple, it might feel a bit small for younger guests. We will be back again.

Our dog weighs around 10 kg, so we really appreciated being able to walk him on a leash. The building is spacious, so we were able to relax without running into many other dogs. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The meat and fish were very fresh, with a wide variety of dishes—we were completely satisfied. Every staff member was kind and welcoming. We would love to stay here again if we have the chance. Thank you very much.

At the end of our Golden Week trip to Beppu, we moved on to Yufuin. We stayed here for our final night. This time, we booked the “Carefully Selected Kyushu Wagyu Tenderloin Indulgence Plan” and spent one night in the PREMIUM Suite Room “Kunugi.” To sum it up, it was unquestionably a wonderful stay. First of all, the Room is spacious! A relaxing Japanese-style living room, plus a bedroom with a second living area. And the highlight is surely the open-air bath on the large terrace—amazingly, there are two baths: one fully open-air and one semi-open-air! The weather was great that day, so we enjoyed the breeze and long soaks. I was still in the bath right up until just before check-out (lol). The meal was also excellent—the main dish featured both tenderloin and Bungo chicken. It was also appreciated that anything we couldn’t finish could be served again the next morning. That said, it’s quite a generous portion, so those with smaller appetites should take note. The Accommodation staff’s service was at a very satisfying level. There are many other Accommodations in Yufuin I’d like to try someday, but this stay was a perfect finale to our Golden Week trip.

This was my second stay. Last time, I stayed during a snowy season, so this time I was able to relax until dinner and fully enjoy the sight of green trees swaying and the gentle calls of evening cicadas from my clean, refined Room. The meals here are delicious both in the morning and in the evening, with plenty of vegetables. Of course, the fish and meat were also excellent—everything was flawless. Above all, the staff’s smiles were wonderful, and their service was attentive and professional, which made me feel truly happy. I will definitely come back to stay again when I have time. I treated myself to a luxurious solo stay in a Room with a private open-air bath. From the deck, I could see fireflies flying right in front of me, and the bath temperature was just right for a long soak. I used it many times during my stay. Meals were served in a private dining room, so I could relax and take my time. There was an incredible amount of food, but everything was delicious, so I finished it all! There is both an indoor public bath and an open-air bath, and I tried both. The open-air bath requires going up and down quite a lot of stairs. Since the indoor public bath also has an open-air section, that alone might be enough. The layout inside the building is a bit complicated. The elevator only goes up to the second floor, but my Room was on the first floor, so each time I had to get off the elevator and use stairs to move around. If you have trouble with your legs or back, it may be better to request a Room on the second floor or higher (though Rooms with private open-air baths may only be on the first floor). I also wished there were an outlet by the bed for charging my phone (I ended up forcing it by plugging in behind the TV). On departure, I even received what seemed like a handmade souvenir. It was an Accommodation with truly warm hospitality. I’d love to visit again.

This is my favorite Accommodation. The bath in the Room is very spacious, with plenty of hot water flowing 24 hours a day—this is truly an Onsen Accommodation! There are also a private family bath, an open-air bath, and separate large public baths for men and women (indoor and open-air), so you can enjoy an Onsen tour without leaving the Accommodation. The meals feature satoyama cuisine with carefully balanced seasoning—exactly to my taste. Thanks to the staff’s explanations and conversation, dinner was especially enjoyable. The futon bedding was clean and wonderfully fluffy; it felt so comfortable that I was already asleep by 9:00 PM. In the quiet middle of the night, I woke up and went back for another bath… it was pure Onsen bliss. I relaxed at a leisurely pace while admiring the fresh greenery from the Room window. The tatami mats were spotless, and amenities like the ReFa hair dryer and even the toilet were new and comfortable. After seeing photos of Kiyasuya in its winter scenery, I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much.

I stay here frequently. I always feel relaxed thanks to the hospitality, meals, Room, and Onsen. The meals are very delicious—so much so that I end up overeating. The Room is also great: it’s comfortable for working and comes with an Onsen, making it perfect for a refreshing break. I will definitely stay again.

My spouse and I stayed here as a couple, and our detached Room came with an open-air bath and a footbath. The Room was very clean and made for a truly relaxing stay. We had our meals in a private dining room in a separate building, and even though there were many guests, we hardly ran into anyone. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the taste and portions were just right—we really enjoyed it! Above all, the morning mist in Yufuin was absolutely breathtaking. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again if we have the chance.

We stayed in a detached annex. The website said “indoor bath type,” and there were no photos, so we expected a regular bath—but it pleasantly exceeded our expectations. I really think you should post photos of that bath on the website! We originally planned to use the open-air bath, but ended up using the in-room bath the whole time (lol). Also, I believe it was fully booked, yet while we were in our Room we couldn’t hear any voices or noise from other guests at all. You can definitely feel its age, but as a Ryokan it had everything we were looking for. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very generous in portion size. In particular, I made a Reservation for the half steamed chicken at dinner and it was quite an experience (in a good way). From the website photos I (wrongly) imagined a bone-in thigh, but it truly was “half.” It was very tasty, but you’ll need to save room in your stomach (especially women). When we asked, they even prepared the leftover steamed chicken so we could eat it in our Room! All staff members were wonderful—everyone was pleasant and welcoming. This quiet mountain Ryokan fulfilled everything I wanted: simply enjoying the Onsen and great food. Thank you very much.

I stayed with my Chi-poo. The Room was clean, and it was great to have a private open-air bath. It would have been perfect if we could dine in the restaurant together with our dog. The on-site dog run is covered with wood chips, which is a thoughtful, dog-friendly touch. The staff were pleasant, and it was a wonderful Accommodation. At check-out, we also received a discount voucher for our next stay, which makes it easy to return.

Despite changing the number of guests just one day before, they kindly called back and responded promptly. The private bath and the meals were excellent; the hot pot broth was so delicious that we drank it all and ended up completely full. The handmade soba had a great bite, and the freshly cooked rice was glossy and so good that we had seconds even though we were already full. The bath water had natural mineral deposits, leaving our skin smooth and soothing both body and mind from everyday fatigue. Thank you very much.

The Onsen was excellent. The staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay. In the private bath, I couldn’t find the power outlet for the hair dryer, which was a bit disappointing. I will visit again. I’ve found a favorite Accommodation.

We stayed at the property after climbing Mount Kuju. It was close to the Maki-no-toge trailhead, and after having tea at Shetani, we headed to Hanashinobu. We arrived at 4 PM and received a detailed explanation of the stay from the proprietress before heading straight to the onsen. The quality of the water was good, and there were various onsen options to choose from, which was very pleasant. Dinner was at 6 PM, which was perfect timing. The dinner was luxurious and very delicious. The room was warm, and we slept comfortably. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, and we were very satisfied. We would like to visit again. The owner and the proprietress were kind, and it was a warm property.

This was our first visit for a birthday anniversary trip. Everything was outstanding. There are only 13 Rooms, and each is a separate, unique detached villa. The interior is thoughtfully designed down to every detail, spacious and comfortable, and the garden is beautifully maintained, making it a very relaxing stay. As Onsen lovers, we barely had time to rest—we fully enjoyed all seven private baths as well as the bath in our Room. There is no large public bath, but there are six private Onsen baths that you can use freely at any time. The water is free-flowing and feels wonderful. The meals were also beautifully presented with great attention to appearance as well as ingredients—decorated with orchids, stunning to look at, and very generous in portion size. From wagyu beef to lobster and shark fin, it was an incredibly luxurious and delicious dining experience. I recommend arriving with a big appetite. The staff’s hospitality and service were excellent too. We were truly glad we chose this place for our anniversary trip—it’s an Accommodation worth visiting even if you have to fly there. I’d love to come back in another season, and I’m also curious about other Rooms, so I’m sure we’ll return. If you’re unsure where to stay, I highly recommend this place.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but both the baths and the meals felt like a completely new experience. The French & Italian cuisine was excellent, and I enjoyed visiting different baths. At Tenku-no-Yu, I could even hear the Onsen water gushing up naturally, which was truly impressive. On the way home, I parked at a free parking lot about 3 minutes downhill from the Accommodation by car and took a walk through an area where intense steam vents and residential homes coexist, fully enjoying the Waita Onsen area. I’d love to stay again.

Having a free-flowing natural Onsen in the Room that you can enjoy 24 hours a day is truly luxurious. The night we stayed, we experienced torrential rain and thunder for the first time and felt the power of the Aso mountains, yet even then we could hear bush warblers singing. It was a trip where we fully enjoyed nature. The hosts were wonderful people, and I understand why this Accommodation is so hard to book. Breakfast was generous, and above all, every dish was delicious—another highlight of our stay. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

I’ve stayed at this Accommodation quite a few times recently, and the Onsen after hiking really helped relieve my fatigue and left my skin smooth. I also enjoyed a proper morning bath—it was pure bliss. The accommodation fee is reasonable, and this was my first time choosing yakiniku for dinner; both the beef and pork were excellent. One thing I noticed was that the ventilation in the dining area felt a bit weak. For guests who aren’t eating yakiniku, having other dishes in that environment might be somewhat uncomfortable. That said, I really liked the Room and its atmosphere—it suits my taste, and I can relax and spend time at ease—so I’d love to stay again next time. I’d also like to try staying in a Room with an open-air bath inside! Thank you very much.

Both the Onsen and the food were excellent, and we were very satisfied. The irori-style cuisine was especially outstanding, and together with the atmosphere, it made for a truly luxurious time. The Onsen was also very relaxing, allowing us to unwind and forget about everyday life. Overall, it was very comfortable, and we felt completely refreshed. A wonderful place that we would definitely like to visit again.
