Kaimu Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. The Onsen water was also excellent. Since it was a weekday, there were few guests, so I could relax and enjoy the bath. If I had to mention one thing, the water temperature was a bit too hot, so I couldn’t stay in for long.

After the typhoon, I wondered what would happen, but they seem to have live fish tanks, and that really helps them secure ingredients. Even for one person, you get a luxurious sashimi platter of delicious, very fresh fish. Dishes like tokobushi (small abalone) grilled on a ceramic plate and simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) make it feel like a high-end Ryokan. And that’s not all—there are also Western-style dishes using fish, so you never get bored. There are plenty of places that focus on Japanese-style seafood, but it’s rare to find an Accommodation that serves fish prepared in such a wide variety of ways. That said, don’t forget the base is still a minshuku (family-run guesthouse). In the morning, no matter how long you wait, no one comes out—so please help yourself. If it’s your first time, this style can be surprising. But because of that, the value for money is outstanding. Very satisfied.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The meals—especially dinner—were very generous, so the late-night snacks and sweets we bought weren’t necessary. We also enjoyed the starry sky from the terrace (though we didn’t see any shooting stars this time). On the first day, there happened to be a nearby festival, and we could even watch fireworks. This was our first time enjoying a private beach; it was almost like having it all to ourselves. We borrowed an SUP and fully enjoyed swimming in the sea as well. We didn’t have enough time—haha. Although it is a bit far from Kansai, this Facility is worth visiting. There is Pension Shishikui nearby, and it was nice to swim in the cove in front of the pension. The night sky with stars was also beautiful.

Stayed during a Shikoku touring trip. Got lost and ended up in the mountains, arriving quite late, but received a warm welcome. The Onsen with sodium-rich water was excellent.

Affordable, surrounded by nature, and I’d like to stay here again. Summer vacation.
