The social setting where wealthy merchants entertained guests through the tea ceremony was known as a “Chaen,” and a long-established Ryokan that has long served this role in Onomichi has been reborn as “Ryokan Onomichi Nishiyama,” an Accommodation that carries Onomichi’s culture into the present day.
