A private, whole-house Accommodation created by fully renovating a Showa-era home at Uno Port—the gateway to Okayama Prefecture—where ferries come and go to the Setouchi islands where everyday life and art intertwine, such as Naoshima and Teshima. What you’ll find here is a way of spending time that extends naturally from life in a seaside town: time to receive shifting light and passing breezes with your whole body, like a vessel. Interpreting Setouchi and Uno in our own way, we have composed an introspective space through custom-built furniture, antiques, music, and books. This is an in-town retreat—not for showing off to others, but for reconsidering your connection with yourself and the place, and for letting sensory, poetic feelings quietly mature. In other words, this is not a luxury Facility: there are no lavish meals or staffed services. There is no TV in the Room. And because we have preserved the structure of a Showa-era house, it may be somewhat less comfortable or insulated than modern homes. There is no breathtaking ocean view.We would be glad if you choose this place as somewhere to spend cradle-like hours—soaking in the afterglow of your journey, or resting right in its midst.
Experience the relaxing island time and immerse yourself in ART on the small island of NAOSHIMA, located in the heart of Okayama and Kagawa Prefectures, known as the "Sunny Land." Enjoy an ART tour while feeling the refreshing Seto breeze during the day, or experience the uniquely illuminated artworks like the nighttime pumpkin—an exclusive experience for those staying on the island. SPARKY’s House is conveniently located within walking distance from Miyanoura Port, the gateway to the island, and close to dining options. It is a safe and welcoming accommodation for solo female travelers and families with small children. In summer, enjoy swimming at the nearby beach, and in winter, the illuminations are highly praised. Come and witness the seasonal beauty of the Seto Inland Sea throughout the year!
