A space repurposed from a wooden row house where those who served the renowned Tatara ironmasters, the "Tabe Family," once lived. The wooden structure has been renovated using wood and earth, preserving its nostalgic charm. Wood, earth, wind—Tatara ironmaking crafted solely with natural materials and human skill. Immerse yourself in the natural elements tied to Tatara and reflect on the lives and craftsmanship of the past during your stay.

In 2021, we completely renovated the cottage accommodations, and in September 2023, we opened "Yoiko no Asobiba" and the athletic plaza, making it even more enjoyable and comfortable for your stay! Located about 1 minute from Matsue Expressway "Mitoya Kisuki IC" and approximately a 20-minute walk from JR Kisuki Station. We feature a natural Onsen, a high-temperature dry sauna (auto löyly), a cold bath with a depth of 150 cm, and an outdoor relaxation space. After your bath, enjoy complimentary ice cream or lactic acid drinks. For breakfast, we offer around 40 varieties of Japanese and Western buffet dishes, including local specialties like "Grilled Mackerel Chirashi Sushi" and "Anago Rice." For late-night snacks, enjoy our signature "Yonaki Soba" for free. The interior incorporates elements of Unnan culture such as "Tatara Ironmaking" and "Sekishu Roof Tiles," along with decorations inspired by Izumo folk crafts like indigo dyeing and kumiko woodworking throughout the facility.

Unnan Yoshida is a place often called the cradle of Japan, where the Yamata-no-Orochi legend, the ancient Izumo kingdom, and some 1,400 years of Tatara ironmaking history converge. In this Japan Heritage–designated area, we have preserved a 150-year-old former village headman’s residence and welcome just one party per day as an exclusive Accommodation. Managed by Chef Ikenoya, our Japanese-French restaurant “Wakatsuki Saryo” features local vegetables and game, fish from the Sea of Japan, and aged Shimane beef; alongside it is our private suite “Hon-an,” with an entrance room adorned with an Izumo magatama jewel and a reservable semi-open-air bath.
