Unnan Yoshida is a place often called the cradle of Japan, where the Yamata-no-Orochi legend, the ancient Izumo kingdom, and some 1,400 years of Tatara ironmaking history converge. In this Japan Heritage–designated area, we have preserved a 150-year-old former village headman’s residence and welcome just one party per day as an exclusive Accommodation. Managed by Chef Ikenoya, our Japanese-French restaurant “Wakatsuki Saryo” features local vegetables and game, fish from the Sea of Japan, and aged Shimane beef; alongside it is our private suite “Hon-an,” with an entrance room adorned with an Izumo magatama jewel and a reservable semi-open-air bath. Deep in the mountains where memories of iron lie dormant, savor a night devoted to this very moment.

Izumo, the land where myths come alive. The detached accommodations replicating ancient elevated houses make you feel as if you've traveled back in time. The main building offers the charm of a traditional hot spring inn, where you can enjoy the hot springs of Japan's three beauties at a reasonable price. Meals include a course recreating and adapting ancient cuisine, a kaiseki course featuring Shimane brand ingredients, and a course showcasing local Shussai kiln pottery. The Rooms, featuring high ceilings and large windows for an open and spacious feel, provide ample space even with a suitcase fully opened. Each Room is equipped with a queen-sized bed fitted with Nishikawa bedding, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Free parking is available, making it suitable for both business and leisure purposes. Rooms with advanced audiovisual equipment offer a wide selection of complimentary movies, allowing you to enjoy them as a mini-theater or party room. In 2021, we completely renovated the cottage accommodations, and in September 2023, we opened "Yoiko no Asobiba" and the athletic plaza, making it even more enjoyable and comfortable for your stay!
