Long ago, it is said that a white heron healed an injured leg here, and the area came to be known as “Heron’s Hot Water.” “Saginoyu-so” is conveniently located for visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple, famous for its Kannon deity believed to ward off misfortune, and for strolling around the ruins of Gassan Toda Castle associated with the Amago clan. It also serves as an ideal base for exploring the San’in region, including Izumo Taisha Shrine and Matsue Castle.

The air resonates with the chanting of sutras, the chirping of birds, and the grand chorus of cicadas and frogs.
