Takeda Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

I hadn’t visited Arima Onsen for quite some time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but if I was going to return after so long, I wanted an exceptional place for both cuisine and Onsen—so I decided to splurge on this Accommodation. I had known the name Kinzan for years, but everything was far beyond my expectations, and my mother was absolutely delighted as well. This time we fully enjoyed the live conger eel kaiseki along with the Onsen, and if possible, we’d love to visit again during crab season.

This is my second stay at Hanakoyado. I became a repeat guest because this is where you find the answer to whether high-quality Onsen and gourmet dining can truly be enjoyed at a reasonable price. The traditional wooden building and tiled bath are full of classic Onsen atmosphere. Even more luxuriously, the Kinsen flows continuously, and when you sink into the tub, the overflowing water swirls as it runs off. I also enjoyed a steam bath using the high-temperature source spring. The rice cooked in the okudosan is delicious, and the fish and meat carefully grilled over charcoal with radiant heat are more than satisfying. To top it off, curry rice is served at the end as well. There is an Onsen experience and cuisine here that feel wonderfully untouched by modern times.

This was my first time visiting Arima Onsen. I booked a good-value Plan with a lighter meal, but there was so much food that I’m sorry I couldn’t finish it all. The Onsen tickets were included, so I could enjoy other Onsens as well—it was wonderful. The Shuttle Service to the bus stop was very helpful. All the staff were very kind, and I was truly impressed. I would love to visit again.

I stayed for one night starting on Saturday after work. It was a truly satisfying stay in every way—hospitality, service, meals, Onsen, and baths—all of which helped me forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Since Arima Onsen is close to Kobe, I often visit for day trips, but this reminded me that if you have an Accommodation like this with nothing to complain about, staying overnight is definitely the better choice. The only drawback was that there were quite a few stairs, which I assume can’t be helped due to the location. Still, it’s an Accommodation I would absolutely like to return to.

We chose this Hotel after reading Reviews and checking the price. All of the staff were kind, and the check-in explanation was very easy to understand. The Room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable for a relaxing stay. We were very satisfied because we could enjoy both Taiko no Yu and the Hotel’s Onsen! After getting tired from walking up the hill before arriving at the Hotel, the cold welcome drink was perfect! Our whole family was happy with our stay. Thank you!

I stayed in a newly renovated Room and enjoyed a brief escape from everyday life, surrounded by the warmth of wood. Choraku is an Accommodation where you can enjoy both the gold and silver hot springs, so if you’re looking for a place to stay in Arima, I would recommend Choraku without hesitation. Flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the building, and their thoughtful hospitality was truly appreciated. The meal served in the Room was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the fun conversation while they explained each dish—I couldn’t stop laughing. The extra-large TV wasn’t working properly, but the front desk staff came right away and fixed it. Shortly after I returned home, I received a thank-you letter from Choraku. I travel often, but I have never stayed anywhere with such attentive service. I also booked through IKYU.com, and there was a surprise roast beef dish at dinner. I would like to take this opportunity to thank IKYU.com as well.

Despite booking on short notice, we found a wonderful Accommodation. In response to our request for consideration regarding parking, you contacted us immediately, and we truly appreciate your exceptionally prompt support—something we rarely experience even after staying at many Accommodations. The amenities were excellent, and the two of us were already talking about visiting again soon. We hope to build a long and positive relationship with you.

This was our fourth stay including Hatago, and each time we have chosen a different type of Room, enjoying a truly wonderful time. Every Room has its own character, and this one was spacious; the private open-air kinsen bath attached to the Room was also very comfortable. It was such a lovely stay that I’m already looking forward to returning and wondering when we can visit again. The cuisine, which has always been delicious, felt even more refined—beautiful to look at, enticing, and deeply satisfying. Watching the chefs finish the dishes right in front of us and being able to speak with the kitchen staff directly was a delight. At breakfast, I asked all sorts of questions about how to make dashimaki tamago properly (something I never manage well), and although I may have been a bother, they kindly taught me tips in detail—I was truly impressed. My husband has an egg allergy and had avoided eggs for many years despite loving them; however, he recently found that he is fine as long as they are not raw. When we mentioned this, you cooked them thoroughly for him, and he happily finished everything. Also, when I noted at the time of Reservation that it was a birthday trip, you prepared a beautiful watermelon garnish with celebratory lettering. We were touched by everyone’s thoughtful attention to detail, and we would love to visit again. Thank you very much. P.S. We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s 60th birthday. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay! Thank you for the warm hospitality and attentive service! The Room I had wanted to stay in for so long was very clean and spacious, and I’m truly glad we chose it—we had a genuinely happy time. The Onsen was never crowded, and there was also a sauna, so we could relax at our own pace—it was wonderful! My mother was absolutely delighted, and it became a memorable trip. This is a Ryokan I definitely want to visit again. Thank you so much!!

We stayed here for a pre-baby trip. The property was very clean, and the guidance from check-in to our Room was consistently courteous. We were able to spend our time comfortably from start to finish. Since I was pregnant, I had some dietary restrictions and ingredients I couldn’t eat, so we made several requests. They kindly accommodated everything thoroughly, which we truly appreciated. Every dish was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen was also wonderful, and we were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. We are really glad we chose this place for our pre-baby trip. It’s unfortunate that due to the age restriction we won’t be able to visit for a while after the baby is born, but we plan to recommend it to our parents and friends. We look forward to the day when we can visit again as a family.

From the moment we arrived at the Ryokan, the staff were wonderful, and we never got bored inside—we enjoyed karaoke, billiards, and table tennis. The meals were also delicious, making this a very satisfying trip. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

The Room was thoroughly cleaned down to the smallest details, and we were able to stay very comfortably. Since our Room faced the river, we could hear the kajika frogs calling at night and enjoy a wonderfully luxurious atmosphere. Also, whenever we passed staff members in the hallway and elsewhere, they greeted us thoughtfully, and I was impressed by how many of them showed such attentive hospitality. The meals exceeded our expectations in both flavor and variety, and every dish was delicious. The dining area also showed careful consideration in its seating arrangement, creating a refined, high-quality space for dining. As for the baths, we could enjoy both Kinsen and Ginsen without leaving the property, with three different bath areas available—more than enough to fully relax and enjoy ourselves. At first I was surprised to hear that amenities are not placed in the Room but are picked up in the lobby to bring back with you; however, once we tried it, it felt flexible and actually more convenient. When we visit Arima Onsen again, my family agreed there won’t be any other choice.

I always stay here when attending a show. Even though it was a morning performance, I was able to store my luggage in a locker, which was very helpful. My friend and I enjoyed a late lunch buffet at Ensemble. The space was spacious, with a wide variety of dishes, and we were very satisfied. Perhaps because it is the Hotel’s 100th anniversary, there were also menu items from the former Takarazuka Hotel, and everything was delicious. The Room is compact, but has a lovely atmosphere and was very comfortable. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and kindly assisted us, which we truly appreciated. I will definitely stay again.

I visited for a day trip. The staff were very friendly. It was in a quiet location, a little away from the Onsen town. I arrived by car about an hour early, so I went shopping in the Onsen town about a 12-minute walk away, and they picked me up by car at the tourist information center. It was raining, so I really appreciated being picked up even though it was just a day trip. Thank you very much. Next time, I would like to stay overnight.

I have been staying here for several years, and this is my third stay this year, following winter and spring. The seasonal cuisine is both delicious and beautifully presented. The drinks in the refrigerator have changed from Jurokucha to green tea since last year, but I would prefer a caffeine-free tea at night.

This was my first stay here. It is a traditional Onsen Ryokan with some age, but it was clean and very comfortable. Everyone—the front desk staff, the dining staff, and the bath area staff—was extremely courteous and made me feel welcome. If a staff member was near the elevator hall, they would always press the button and wait with you; even if they were a little farther away, they would come back just to press it. It’s a small gesture, but it truly made me happy. The only disappointment was that the amount of alcohol I ordered with dinner was clearly less than the listed serving size, and even the shochu with water tasted almost like plain water. That was a significant negative point for me. Even if I stay at this Ryokan again, I don’t think I would order drinks next time. That said, all other service was perfect. If I visit Arima again, I would like to stay here again. The location was also excellent.

Twelve of us gathered to celebrate my father’s 88th birthday. The Premium Suite Room was more than spacious enough for six people per Room, and we were completely satisfied. Drinks and snacks were free, and the service was exceptional. We also enjoyed table tennis and karaoke, and we owe this wonderful gathering to this Hotel. Thank you very much.

The roads in Arima Onsen are narrow, and they kept getting narrower on the way to the Hotel parking area, which made us a bit anxious, but we arrived safely. The staff were kind and attentive, and there were snacks and drinks in the lobby, so we could relax. The Room was also clean and well prepared; we took a short rest and enjoyed a walk around the Onsen town, which was fun. Since we requested a later dinner time, we were able to enjoy the bath at a leisurely pace. We thoroughly enjoyed plenty of meat with our meal. The other dishes also felt carefully prepared and were delicious. It was also nice that we could enjoy dessert in the lobby later in the evening after taking some time. If I had to mention one thing, it would have been better if breakfast items like bacon and sausages were served hot. We thought this might be our first and last trip to Arima Onsen, but now my spouse and I would like to visit again. We were happy with the Room upgrade—thank you very much.

My first visit to Arima Onsen was just to stop by a famous hot spring, but this Accommodation was wonderful and made me want to come back. The water was soft and soothing, and the meals were excellent—carefully selected ingredients, thoughtfully prepared dashi, and delicious sea bream rice. The attendant not only served the meals but also laid out the futon, and their dedicated service left a lasting impression.

This was my third stay. After arriving while it was still light out, I first enjoyed Goshobo’s semi-mixed Onsen and the large public bath with its golden Onsen. Since it was summer, even a short soak left me sweating nonstop. In the large bath, I shared the water with someone for the first time here; we had a pleasant chat and ended up soaking a bit longer. Dinner was a lighter, seafood-focused course. The chilled Awaji spiny lobster soup was a perfect match with Koshu wine. The highlight began with sashimi of meita-garei flounder and aged sea bream, followed by more Akashi-ura fish to enjoy. The charcoal-grilled Spanish mackerel and the Akashi sea bream acqua pazza were both seasonal specials you can only have here at this time of year. The broth in the acqua pazza was much lighter than last autumn’s filefish version. To finish, the cheese course left me fully satisfied in both quality and quantity—thank you for the wonderful meal. For breakfast, I switched back to the standard menu: milk, soup, vegetables—an all-around delicious plate—beautiful French toast, and yogurt meant to savor the jam and honey. Everything tasted exactly as good as expected. Even the mini breads were great; this time, the buttery croissant was my favorite. In my Room bath, I topped up little by little while letting it cool slightly, enjoying a pleasantly lukewarm golden Onsen. The breeze through the window felt wonderful: lush greenery everywhere, distant summer skies, murmuring sounds of life outside—and cicadas loud enough not to lose to them. Summer Onsen really is something special. After breakfast I alternated between the golden Onsen and the low-temperature sauna. It was an extremely satisfying holiday stay. Thank you very much. P.S.
