Takeda Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

I finally found an Accommodation that truly satisfied me after a long time. The pick-up at the station, the welcome at the entrance, and the greeting at the front desk all left a lasting impression. The hospitality from our attendant and everyone at the Ryokan was excellent. The food was delicious, and the Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. If I had one request, since I tend to get hot easily, I would have appreciated one or two more fans in the changing room after bathing—but this is purely my personal preference. I would like to stay again.

This is my second stay at Hanakoyado. I became a repeat guest because this is where you find the answer to whether high-quality Onsen and gourmet dining can truly be enjoyed at a reasonable price. The traditional wooden building and tiled bath are full of classic Onsen atmosphere. Even more luxuriously, the Kinsen flows continuously, and when you sink into the tub, the overflowing water swirls as it runs off. I also enjoyed a steam bath using the high-temperature source spring. The rice cooked in the okudosan is delicious, and the fish and meat carefully grilled over charcoal with radiant heat are more than satisfying. To top it off, curry rice is served at the end as well. There is an Onsen experience and cuisine here that feel wonderfully untouched by modern times.

To get straight to the point, this became an absolute favorite! I used to think staying overnight in Arima Onsen was expensive (especially with meals), so my usual style was to stay at a Hotel in Kobe, then stop by Arima Onsen the next day—soak at Kin no Yu or Gin no Yu and enjoy street food. This time I found this Hotel, and since it’s a No Meals Included Plan but still comes with tickets for the public baths, I was excited that I could finally fully enjoy Arima Onsen!! I arrived in the early afternoon and they kindly let me park my car at the Hotel. From the very beginning, all of the staff were incredibly kind and welcomed me so warmly! The location is easy to find since it’s just up from the shopping street, and Taiko no Yu is also right nearby. I walked from the Hotel and enjoyed street food starting from below all the way up to shops higher up, but it never felt far coming back. Also, while it may be an older property, everything is kept very clean, so it didn’t bother me at all—I was completely comfortable. I went to Kin no Yu, Gin no Yu, and Taiko-no-Yu Donokan as well, but personally I liked this Hotel’s bath the best! It wasn’t crowded and I could relax in a spacious setting. The foot acupressure bath felt amazing—I enjoyed it morning and night like a kid again! You do one loop through both cold water and hot water areas, and the stones underfoot give just the right amount of stimulation. Since I happened to be alone at that time, I went around several times! The hot water itself was also fantastic! The post-bath drink bar was another nice touch. And even the sweets with tea in my Room were something I already loved from Arima Onsen—so for the first time in a while I bought some at the shop to take home! Staying at this Hotel let me enjoy Arima Onsen to its fullest—it was refreshing and wonderful. Thank you as well for your pleasant service—I'll definitely come again!

As we did last year, we stayed again this year for our cousins’ trip. Unfortunately, the weather was bad last year, but this year it was sunny, so we decided to definitely use Choraku’s pool. At check-in, we enjoyed delicious tea and sweets in the lounge, then rested a bit in our Room before heading to Choraku. We went into the pool (there were lots of children, but we still enjoyed it), and then used Choraku’s open-air bath. After returning, it was time for dinner. The meal was delicious again this time. The main dish at dinner was venison, which had no gamey smell and tasted great. There were also various drinks that paired well with the food, and this time we ordered the wine pairing. The price was very reasonable. After dinner we took a short break, then went back to Choraku to enjoy a mini concert. After returning, we had a nightcap in the lounge, took another bath, and went to bed. In the morning we woke up slowly, took another bath, and then had breakfast. This time we could choose between Japanese-style or Western-style breakfast; since the bread served here is incredibly good, we chose Western-style and asked for all types of bread so the three of us could share a little of each. We had tea in the lounge again, returned to our Room to pack up our belongings—and then it was already time to check out. The staff were pleasant, the Room was clean and comfortable—an easy Hotel to relax in—and since you can also enjoy Choraku’s Facilities and events as well, there’s plenty to do. We had another wonderful stay this time too. We’re planning our cousins’ trip here again next year as well—thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for everything. This is a wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy both the gold and silver Onsen. Not only are the baths spacious, they are also kept extremely clean, making for a truly relaxing and rejuvenating time. The Shuttle Service staff, as well as all team members, were excellent, and the in-Room dining was delicious—there is nothing to complain about. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we will stay here. This time, I stayed for the fourth time to celebrate my birthday. I truly love this inn so much that I once gifted a stay here to my parents as well. The greatest pleasure of visiting is, without a doubt, the cuisine. Each dish is beautiful to look at and absolutely outstanding in flavor, and I’m moved every single time. Even my husband, who usually isn’t very interested in food, ends up saying “It’s delicious—this makes me want another drink,” and drinks a little too much (laugh). No matter how many times we come, it always makes us want to return just to enjoy these meals again. Since it was my birthday, they even arranged a wonderful celebration during dinner. The gorgeous presentation with gold flakes is apparently usually served with alcohol, but since I’m not great with alcohol they kindly prepared it with orange juice instead (first photo). They also gave me a celebratory gift and a commemorative photo—such warm thoughtfulness truly made me happy. And breakfast is exceptional as well. Not only dinner but breakfast is genuinely delicious; every time we are completely satisfied with every dish. Of course, everything beyond the food is wonderful too. The room is spotless and beautiful down to every detail, making it extremely comfortable. The room also has an open-air bath, which we love because we can relax and enjoy the hot spring together at any time without worrying about anyone around us. Meals are served at the same counter as other guests, but partitions are set between seats. Outside of meal times there are few chances to run into other guests, which makes it especially appealing for us to quietly enjoy unhurried time as a couple. All of the staff are always courteous, and thanks to their pleasant hospitality we can spend our entire stay feeling calm and relaxed. The cuisine, the room, and the hospitality—everything is excellent. It never disappoints no matter how many times we visit. Once again this birthday became an unforgettable and happy experience for me. I’m truly looking forward to returning. Thank you always.

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We booked the Anniversary Plan, and in short, it was a truly wonderful stay that made us genuinely glad we chose to spend her special day here. What impressed us first was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. From arrival throughout our stay, everyone treated us with such warmth and care that we felt completely at ease. And above all, the food was exceptional. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious—not just tasty, but beautifully presented in a way that truly felt like “a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.” Each course made us excited for what would come next, and we enjoyed every moment of mealtime. As part of the Anniversary Plan, we also received many thoughtful touches. They prepared a carved watermelon with the character “Kotobuki” (meaning “celebration/long life”), offered an extra dish on the house, and even gave us a commemorative gift. Every gesture made us happy and felt like they were celebrating my wife’s birthday together with us. Our Room had an open-air bath and a terrace, which allowed us to relax as a couple without worrying about anyone around us—something we really appreciated. In addition, as an IKYU Diamond member benefit, champagne and Shine Muscat grapes were prepared in our Room as well. This was another delightful service. Breakfast the next morning was just as impressive as dinner—not only in flavor but also in presentation—leaving us satisfied until the very end. Most importantly, my wife was truly happy during this trip—that meant everything to me. On such a special occasion—a birthday—we were able to enjoy amazing cuisine, warm hospitality, and unhurried time together as a couple. This is an Accommodation that made us sincerely feel: “We’re so glad we chose this place.” Thanks to all of your staff, it became a memorable and wonderful birthday for both of us. From the moment we arrived, your attentive yet warmly familiar hospitality was perfectly balanced. The entire property was kept impeccably clean and well maintained. The furnishings, interior design, fragrance, and tableware— everything reflected consistently high-quality service throughout. I visited Arima Onsen Koyokaku with my elderly mother on Respect for the Aged Day. The guest room felt a bit dated, but the Onsen and kaiseki cuisine were outstanding. All service throughout the Hotel was warm and impeccable, and the Shuttle Service driver was also very courteous. It was a truly satisfying trip, and I will definitely visit again.

No wonder so many guests rate this Ryokan so highly!! The staff were simply wonderful, and I was impressed from the very start of the morning. Although the staff member assisting us was not Japanese, the explanations were clear and made us excited for the day right away. The half-buffet offered nothing but delicious choices, and we loved being able to grill items over charcoal at our own table. We were completely satisfied from breakfast onward! Even after checkout, they saw us off with warm smiles—this has become one of the Ryokan we definitely want to visit again. Thank you to all the staff.

We chose this Hotel after reading Reviews and checking the price. All of the staff were kind, and the check-in explanation was very easy to understand. The Room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable for a relaxing stay. We were very satisfied because we could enjoy both Taiko no Yu and the Hotel’s Onsen! After getting tired from walking up the hill before arriving at the Hotel, the cold welcome drink was perfect! Our whole family was happy with our stay. Thank you!

I traveled solo as a woman and enjoyed both the Gold Bath and the Silver Bath. The hospitality was outstanding. Everyone greeted me warmly, and the younger staff and international staff were kind and welcoming with friendly smiles. Dinner was delicious—the seafood, mountain specialties, and sake were all excellent. I’d be happy if you could sell the pre-meal vinegar in the shop as well; I really liked it. Since I usually skip breakfast, I appreciated having a dinner-only Plan. I may visit again on another solo trip, and I also recommend it for family travel.

Because we booked our trip at the last minute, the only dinner option available was the buffet, which was a bit disappointing at first. However, when we actually went for dinner, tempura and sushi were prepared fresh in the dining area, and the other dishes were also very tasty—we really enjoyed the meal. The service was well organized, and everything felt clean and well maintained. Overall, the staff provided attentive hospitality, and we had a very comfortable stay. It felt like this long-established ryokan has adapted well to international guests while preserving its strengths. We also really enjoyed the many baths.

After a tiring day of sightseeing, I contacted the Shuttle Service and they came right away, which was a huge help. The entire property was spotless, and the staff were very courteous. The Room had a kinsen hot spring bath with luxurious free-flowing water available 24 hours a day—I was truly impressed. I soaked many times and felt great every time. The kaiseki dinner, late-night tantanmen, and breakfast buffet were all delicious and left me completely satisfied. The staff member in charge of the tantanmen service was especially polite and provided outstanding hospitality. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including many local specialties, which I really appreciated—I enjoyed it so much that I went back for seconds. The drink service in the lobby and in the Room was also very helpful. I was happy to find a wide selection of skincare amenities in the Room as well. Throughout my stay, there wasn’t a single unpleasant moment—I felt comfortable until the very end. At this price, it’s truly appreciated. I will definitely stay again next time. Thank you for such an enjoyable time.

Our room was in a separate annex building. There was a private hot spring bath on the second floor, so we could relax without worrying even with children. The breakfast and dinner were both more delicious than expected. It was a shame there were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish everything. With no unnecessary services, we were able to unwind at our own pace. We’d love to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

Twelve of us gathered to celebrate my father’s 88th birthday. The Premium Suite Room was more than spacious enough for six people per Room, and we were completely satisfied. Drinks and snacks were free, and the service was exceptional. We also enjoyed table tennis and karaoke, and we owe this wonderful gathering to this Hotel. Thank you very much.

I visited for a day trip. The staff were very friendly. It was in a quiet location, a little away from the Onsen town. I arrived by car about an hour early, so I went shopping in the Onsen town about a 12-minute walk away, and they picked me up by car at the tourist information center. It was raining, so I really appreciated being picked up even though it was just a day trip. Thank you very much. Next time, I would like to stay overnight.

I wasn’t a Takarazuka fan at first, but after staying in the Revue Room and discovering how fascinating it is, I think I’m becoming a fan of the Takarazuka Revue. The hotel had Takarazuka videos and related displays throughout, almost like a museum. Although it has a long history, it was relocated just a few years ago, so everything felt new and spotless. The Grand Theater is next door, and I ended up doing quite a bit of shopping at the store.

We stayed here as a family of three with our daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen, and the meals served in our Room were delicious. The Shuttle Service nearby was arranged promptly, which was very helpful. The staff were also kind and attentive throughout our stay. Thank you very much! We would love to visit again!
