Tottori University Station × Highly rated facilities at Hotel·Ryokan

The rainy early-summer weather had me feeling down, but the front desk staff’s courteous service lifted my spirits. It was a shame that there was almost no view from the room window. Breakfast didn’t offer a wide variety, but the rice was excellent and the side dishes were surprisingly delicious. One disappointing point was the smell of the shower curtain… Maybe it can’t be helped during the rainy season?

My first trip to Tottori. I was exhausted after the scorching heat at the Tottori Sand Dunes, but I was soothed by the Onsen, a wonderful dinner, and hospitality-filled service. The open-air bath in our detached Room was very spacious, and I enjoyed it many times. I especially loved the shiso pickled scallions served at dinner and bought some at the shop. I was surprised to find such a wonderful Onsen Accommodation so close to the station. I’d love to visit again.

I stayed for two nights as a solo traveler (no dinner, breakfast included). The building itself seems old, but the interior was very clean and I had a comfortable stay. Based on the Accommodation Fee, I had certain expectations, but it exceeded them. I’m glad I chose to stay at Marumo. Thank you very much!

The Onsen was wonderful. It felt so beneficial that I wanted to soak in it again and again. The breakfast buffet was great, especially with curry available. I was happy to find grapes among the fruit, and the local yogurt was delicious. We used the 30th anniversary coupons at the shop and dining area, which felt like a great deal. Thank you very much to the female staff member at reception who kindly helped us use the coupons. I also shared how great everything was with my local relatives.

I stayed here on short notice for a trip to Tottori. I couldn’t find the location of the affiliated parking lot, so I called the front desk, and they kindly helped me—I really appreciated it. The Room was spacious enough, there were free drinks on the first floor, and there was also a large public bath—everything was excellent. It’s close to the station as well, which was truly convenient. Thank you very much! I’d love to stay again.

It was closer to the station than I expected (I could take a diagonal route), the front desk staff were pleasant, and the amenities were well stocked, so I had a comfortable stay. The convenience store the front desk recommended was also very close, which was handy. Great value for this price—very satisfied.

The property offers excellent access by train, bus, and taxi, making it very convenient.

I booked this Hotel expecting breakfast and a large public bath. There is only one bath, operated on a men/women rotation schedule. For men, the hours are not very convenient: until 18:00 and 22:00–6:00. It also seems the morning bath is not available. Since I arrived late and left early the next morning, I couldn’t use the bath. Breakfast should be considered a complimentary service. Please note it’s not the typical “tray with plates piled high” style. There are Super Hotels on both the north and south sides of Tottori Station, so please be careful which one you book. Although this is an Accommodation near the main station in the prefectural capital, there aren’t any places nearby to have dinner. There are a few bars, but no restaurants for meals, so it’s important to secure food in advance. The staff are very hospitable and made my stay pleasant. There were no issues with the Accommodation itself.

The service was courteous, and the Room felt spacious. Amenities were well stocked, including toner, emulsion, facial cleanser, a toothbrush set, a comb, coffee, tea, and stirrers. I rated the bathroom and toilet 3 because they felt a bit dated.

It was a very comfortable and excellent Hotel. We were able to take the welcome drink up to our Room. I would like to stay here again.

The amenities use high-quality materials, which truly impressed me. I hope you continue to preserve this Japanese character. It was the best Business Hotel I have ever stayed at.

The Facility and other amenities were good. However, the Room smelled slightly of cigarette smoke.

This Hotel is set on spacious grounds in a quiet lakeside setting, perfect for relaxing at a leisurely pace. The view from the panoramic bath is outstanding. The meals are generous—so much so that you may not be able to finish everything. The only drawback was that BS channels were not available.

The bed was incredibly comfortable! The bathroom felt smaller than I expected. There was a noticeable difference between the crowding information and what it was actually like. Overall, I’m satisfied!

I stayed at Mikaku no Accommodation Yamadaya on the second day of my solo trip to Tottori. The place is a bit old, but it was very calm and relaxing, and I was able to take it easy. Since I had crab on the first day, I chose the shabu-shabu course. The portion was so generous that I couldn’t finish it all by myself and ended up leaving some behind—I’m truly sorry about that. Still, it was delicious and I was very satisfied. I don’t usually like ponzu sauce, but the ponzu served with this shabu-shabu was surprisingly easy to enjoy. The thoughtful care as I was leaving also meant a lot. I’d like to stay here again when I come back to Tottori. Thank you very much.

The Room was fairly spacious for its size, and it also had a small sofa and table. The bathroom was a unit bath, but having it in the Room was convenient since there was no need to go outside. The only downside was the location—it’s a bit far from the station and still requires a reasonable walk from the bus stop. I didn’t check whether luggage storage is available, but if you’re short on time, I recommend using the station lockers even if it costs money.

Road bikes are welcome in the Room! The elevator is spacious, so your bike won’t bump into anything. There’s a FamilyMart in the covered shopping arcade a short walk away, and a pharmacy just 1 minute on foot, which was very convenient. Breakfast is on the 2nd floor of the annex building, and you can take coffee back to your Room in a paper cup. I also came for lunch, and it seemed like a very popular restaurant with lots of locals. The bus stop for Tottori Sand Dunes is also very close by, so you can leave the Hotel right on time.

Although the weather was not great, we still enjoyed our stay and even had fun with the little inconveniences. A wonderful Room and meals. Next time, I’d love to watch the stars.
