We have renovated a traditional Kyoto townhouse (Machiya) into a Property that combines the best aspects of a Hotel and a Ryokan, offering "one group per day, entire building rental." Suitable for various purposes such as a two-person Kyoto sightseeing trip, group travel, homecoming, anniversaries, and more.

We have renovated the remaining 'Kyomachiya' in Kyoto, which are gradually decreasing over time. You can experience living in Kyoto by staying in this historic property. Additionally, at 'Kyoiroiriyado Some SEN,' we provide a traditional hearth as the name suggests. For the purpose of preserving the property, we use an electric hearth instead of fire. Please enjoy this warm and nostalgic space.

- "Time is a traveler passing through the ages, and the years that come and go are also travelers." - Tsukihi no Ie, named after a passage from Matsuo Basho's "The Narrow Road to the Deep North," is a machiya townhouse perfectly suited for savoring the essence of time. Inside this historic machiya, you'll find a multi-layered space that defies expectations from its exterior. Starting with a semi-basement level that was originally an air-raid shelter, the layers seamlessly connect through the doma (earthen floor), a living room facing the garden, the first floor, a mezzanine, and the second floor. Each level offers a unique space to relax and spend your time in your own way.

7 minutes by car from Kyoto Station. 5 minutes on foot to Kyoto Aquarium. The surrounding area is a treasure trove of landmarks related to the Shinsengumi, such as Toji, Mibudera, Nishi Honganji, and Shimabara Omon. The Wakaichijinja Shrine, associated with Taira no Kiyomori, the deity of success and fortune, is also a 13-minute walk away. There are 4 Japanese-style Rooms, making it suitable for two families. The Shigaraki ceramic bath set beyond the courtyard is full of the unique charm of a Kyoto townhouse. This rare townhouse also allows pets.

Shichijo Miyabi is a Property machiya accommodation that was renovated from a Kyoto machiya existing since Meiji 45 and opened on March 10, 2020. Incorporating Japanese modern elements into the traditional Kyoto machiya, it offers a space where tradition and modernity can be felt. Located near the recently popular Umekoji Park, it is close to Kyoto Station and conveniently situated for visiting famous Kyoto city attractions such as Kinkakuji, Gion, and Kiyomizudera from the Shichijo Omiya bus stop.

Sabi, or "wabi-sabi," is the appreciation of the beauty found in the passage of time, where aging and weathering bring richness and value—an essential aesthetic of Japanese culture. Faded corrugated metal sheets. Weathered wooden beams on the ceiling. Rusted black steel. A private, whole-townhouse rental machiya featuring both a main house and an annex, embodying the dignified character of traditional ochaya architecture. Located in the Shimabara area—once a flourishing, shogunate-licensed hanamachi—this one-group-per-day Accommodation, “Machiya Residence Inn Kyoto Shimabara Ruikou,” offers complete privacy in a two-building layout. While preserving the refined atmosphere of traditional ochaya design, it also conveys a progressive spirit.On the 1st floor of the street-facing “main house,” the living-dining area and kitchen form one continuous space with a modern feel. The 2nd floor features classic machiya-style Japanese rooms and is equipped with bedrooms and bathrooms. In the “annex” beyond the courtyard, you will find a living-dining area, kitchen, two double beds, and a bathroom overlooking an intimate tsuboniwa garden—all within one machiya space.
