All the staff were wonderful. We waited a little at breakfast, but the gentleman at the entrance gave a deep bow and apologized with a smile, which made us feel comfortable and enjoy breakfast. I felt satisfied that I had stayed at a truly good Hotel for the first time in a while—something you don’t experience at foreign-owned Hotels or with their staff. I would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

I love this Hotel—being soothed by the familiar Japanese-style Room and the usual view of Lake Biwa. It was my first stay in two years, and various things had been simplified. Breakfast is very delicious, but there were so many guests that day that we were seated far away from the food. I think we waited over 20 minutes for the made-to-order omelet. Some foreign guests ended up leaving without waiting for their omelets. The smoothie, as always, was excellent. It was my first time seeing the planetarium, but I wondered if there were mites in the seats. After sitting for a while, both my spouse and I started itching on our arms and kept scratching. As with old movie theaters, I think pest control and insect prevention would be a good idea. As for the Room amenities, various items were provided in the washroom, but they were hard to see at a glance. This is one of my favorite Hotels, so I hope to see improvements in service going forward.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The sashimi came with daikon carved into a crane, and there was also sekihan (red rice). Everything looked beautiful and tasted great, leaving both our stomachs and hearts full. All of the staff were wonderful and very considerate, which made our time here truly enjoyable. This was my first visit. About a 20-minute taxi ride from Kibune, after passing through a peaceful satoyama countryside, you’ll find this culinary Ryokan by the Sanzen-in temple gate. Upon arrival, the staff welcomed us with attentive service and treated us to shiso juice. The Room faced the garden and was a calming Japanese-style space. They said they bring Onsen water from Sanzen-in, and I was able to relax and unwind in the open-air bath. The lounge area was well stocked with drinks and ice cream, which was great. Dinner starts at 6:00 PM, but since we had a late lunch, they kindly let us delay it by 30 minutes, which really helped. The dishes were beautifully presented, and everything was delicious. The appetizer featuring an Aoi Matsuri festival float decoration included Chinese lantern plant (hozuki), which made me feel the season. The pike conger (hamo) and sweetfish (ayu) were also beautifully plated and very tasty. Everyone at the Ryokan was truly kind, and their courteous service made me very happy. The Shuttle Service by bus was also extremely helpful. I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

This was our second stay at Kamenoi Hotel Hikone. Just like last time, the staff were wonderful and the meals were delicious, so we chose to stay here again without hesitation. This time I was traveling with my 88-year-old mother. During dinner, she said the chair backrest hurt her bones, so I asked a staff member if we could borrow a cushion. They immediately brought us a large cushion, and after that my mother was able to comfortably enjoy about an hour and a half of dining. The dishes were served one after another at just the right timing while still warm, and everything was very delicious. The next morning, when we went to the Room for breakfast and gave our room number, I was surprised to see that last night’s cushion had already been placed on the chair backrest—it truly moved me. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with gratitude for the staff’s thoughtful care. Thank you very much.
