Jōhana Station × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

This was my first time staying here. At first, I wasn’t sure about a standalone house in the mountains, but once I arrived, it far exceeded my expectations. The Room was more spacious than I imagined, the Onsen was free-flowing with a gentle quality to the water, and above all, the meals were not only delicious but also very generous. This Accommodation offers something truly special that you won’t find elsewhere. As someone who loves traveling, it’s an Accommodation I genuinely want to recommend to others from the bottom of my heart.

The Room, the meals, and the rural scenery... everything was wonderful! Even travel guidance was provided, and the services were excellent, which made our trip truly enjoyable. We stayed here to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. We came for the Onsen, but the meals were also delicious, and we enjoyed a quiet, relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

A two-day stay that felt like stepping into another world The stylish furnishings in each Room and the thoughtful attention to every little detail were exceptional. The birds and insects singing in the garden, the soothing sound of water in the open-air bath, and above all, the chef’s warm personality and outstanding cuisine were truly superb. This is a wonderful auberge I would absolutely love to return to, and one I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

My parents stayed here because they had been interested in it for a while. Since it was a weekday, it was fairly quiet and they were able to relax. They were also happy that other older guests were using the pool too, so they felt comfortable using it without hesitation, and they said the food was beautifully presented and delicious!

When we arrived at Komaki Port, it was pouring rain and we were worried about what lay ahead, but the staff’s bright smiles instantly put us at ease. They gave us a detailed tour of the Accommodation, which truly impressed us. The open-air bath was challenging in the rain, but it turned into a unique experience we wouldn’t normally have, and that made it special in its own way. The food was more than we could finish, with outstanding quality, and there were many moments when the staff’s thoughtful care really moved us. The Room had just been renovated and was a very satisfying space. However, at night when using the Room’s open-air bath, we did notice insects being drawn to the lights. Seeing all the staff waving goodbye as we left made this an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much.

I was looking for a room with an open-air bath through online reservations, and among the many options I reviewed, this accommodation stood out as particularly appealing. This was my first time using your service. The online reservation process was smooth. Although the front desk was closed on the day of my stay due to it being a holiday for the ryokan, prior email communication allowed me to inquire and receive polite responses. While I felt that quicker response times would have been even better, I truly appreciated the courteous support. Upon arrival at the accommodation, it exceeded my expectations based on the images I had seen. The room had already been pre-cooled with air conditioning to ensure comfort upon entry. The ambiance of the room was excellent, and attention to detail in its design stood out. The bathroom featured both a regular shower and a ceiling shower, while amenities like shampoo had pleasant fragrances. The provided loungewear for relaxing in-room had a nice texture against the skin. However, I found that using the sink area together with another person felt slightly cramped, and similarly, the toilet space felt a bit tight. The raised tatami area in our guestroom was superbly crafted. If I visit this area again or have friends looking for recommendations, I will definitely suggest this place—and would love to stay here myself once more. A simple, no-frills temple lodging. There is no bath, so the Facility is somewhat lacking. However, in the atmosphere of Jōhana, a temple town, it offers more than enough in return. Once you visit, it will likely remain a lifelong memory.

We stayed at TATEGU -YA for two nights. It was spacious and comfortable for two people. The renovation was wonderful, thoughtfully incorporating valuable carvings as well as pillars, doors, and glass windows originally used by the joinery shop into everyday living. Compared to our last visit (three years ago), we felt there were more younger people around town, giving it a lively atmosphere. This is an Accommodation and a town we look forward to visiting again.

The front desk staff were very helpful. The Room and bathtub were both spacious, and I was able to relax a lot. It was very convenient since the adjacent shopping center has most of what you need. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It would have been even better if tea had been available instead of water, and if there had been dessert. Breakfast was also good.

I stayed using the Backpacker Plan. The Room had a refrigerator and an electric kettle, making it very comfortable! The toilet was shared, but it was thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. During the Obon holiday period, when Accommodation rates were high everywhere, it was great to stay at such an affordable price. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity!

I booked the Bring-Your-Own BBQ Plan. The gazebo in a separate building was already set up with a charcoal grill and other equipment, which was very convenient. We had a great time with our favorite ingredients and drinks. However, there is no dedicated lighting in the gazebo. Even with two lanterns, it was quite dark. If the cottage has an outdoor power outlet, you might be able to run an extension cord and use temporary lighting. We used Iguchi’s Yu-Yu Land Hanatsubaki for bathing, so we did not use the cottage bath. It was wonderful to spend time with friends again after a long while. I would like to stay here again.
