Keigetsu Matsubayashi, a master of Sansui Kachoga (landscape and bird-and-flower paintings), lived through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. Renowned for his artistic talent, he left behind numerous works. He also composed Chinese poetry in five-character verses inspired by the natural beauty of Ina Valley. The name "Nichichoan Keigetsu" originates from "Nichichoan," which Keigetsu himself named after this poetry for the retreat of a previous owner.
