Myōhōji Station (Niigata Prefecture) × Stays Popular For SunsetsHighly-rated Hotel·Ryokan

We avoid peak seasons and, every year in late August after the Obon holidays, my spouse and I visit a nearby Onsen to relax. We have stayed at this Accommodation once before, and the views from both the Room and the baths were excellent, and we were very satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. Dinner in particular was an abundant spread—crab, abalone, lobster, beef steak, simmered nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and sashimi including fatty tuna—so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all.

The seafood was delicious. The meal came with a whole crab and was very filling. The sashimi was also excellent, and our whole family was very satisfied. We enjoyed breakfast while looking out at the sea. The private sauna is also highly recommended!

We stayed in a glamping dome, and the Facility was new, clean, and fully stocked with amenities—so you can camp hands-free. As it has only just opened there wasn’t much information available, but the kitchen is also well equipped with tableware, detergent, and seasonings. We brought our own ingredients, but you can also purchase a BBQ set on-site. Charcoal BBQs are not allowed, so we used the dedicated gas grill indoors. The shared barrel sauna had an amazing ocean view as well. An ice maker and a washer-dryer were available to use free of charge. The beach is about a 5-minute walk away, so it’s recommended for fishing or visiting the market.

We ended up staying an extra two nights after the Nagaoka Fireworks. The location is very convenient for street food in Teradomari, fishing at the fishing port, and nearby beaches. The Facility itself is new and clean. The parking instructions were a bit hard to understand, but there is also parking in front of the Facility, and it seems fine to park there. The bath is not an Onsen, but if you look around, there are plenty of hot springs nearby. Highly recommended for international guests as well. We would love to stay again!
