Togarinozawa Onsen Station × Highly-rated Hotel·Ryokan

We stayed for two nights during the Golden Week holidays. The staff were very welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed Nozawa’s hot springs in comfort. It’s an ideal location for visiting the public bathhouses. We would love to stay here again.

Although I stayed for only one night, I was completely satisfied with everything. All of the staff were very pleasant, and the Room was clean and comfortable—I immediately wanted to come back and stay again. The dinner and breakfast at the counter were especially outstanding! You can watch the cooking right in front of you, and you can really feel the care that goes into each dish. I’ve already recommended it to my friends.

We stayed here for a family trip combined with our annual visit to the graves in Niigata. The building is old, and there was an unpleasant smell outside the room, possibly due to an out-of-service restroom nearby. However, the room was clean, and the Onsen was very relaxing. The Hotel staff were very kind, and we would like to stay here again on our next visit.

This was my first visit to Nozawa Onsen, and our stay—including at this Accommodation—was truly wonderful. In addition to visiting the public baths, we also enjoyed the bath here; it uses water from the Oyu source and was adjusted to a comfortable temperature, making it very relaxing. We ate dinner out on the first night and at the Accommodation on the second night, and both meals were delicious, making great use of local ingredients. We had breakfast on both days as well; the menu changed each day, and everything was thoughtfully prepared with local produce. The rice and miso soup were especially outstanding—so good that I even wished I’d eaten fewer side dishes just to enjoy more rice. The building has a sense of history, but it is carefully maintained. The staff were consistently courteous and attentive, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

I stayed at Naraya Ryokan before moving overseas in November. I won’t be back for a while, but I’m glad I had the chance to stay at such a wonderful Ryokan. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent.

This was my second time staying in Nozawa Onsen, and I wanted to try a different accommodation from last time. After reading various reviews online, I decided on this place. There are many public onsen baths near the accommodation, and I enjoyed visiting several of them. The large bath at the accommodation alternates between night and morning use, and since the autumn leaves were beautiful at the time, soaking in the bath while enjoying the view was amazing! The provided amenities were from POLA, which was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious—I even had three bowls of rice! The staff members were very kind; it felt almost unfair to pay such a reasonable price for such great service. If I had to mention one downside, as noted in other reviews as well, it would be that the futon mattress was thin with just one layer, making it slightly uncomfortable to sleep on. However, overall, I was extremely satisfied! I'd love to stay here again!

The accommodation has been renovated and is very beautiful. The dining area is also very clean and atmospheric, and the food was absolutely delicious, making it a highly satisfying experience. The property faces Oyu Street in the heart of Nozawa Onsen, with the Accommodation entrance just steps away. It’s also conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the Nagasaka Gondola. The parking lot is about a 3-minute walk from the building, but for the Nozawa Onsen area it offers plenty of spaces. Depending on where you park, it may not be possible to pull your car out immediately, but if you share your schedule in advance they will accommodate you. Inside, there are two private baths: a free-flowing natural hot-spring Onsen (direct from the source) and an ion bath. The Onsen is just like the public baths in town, and because it’s private, it’s perfect for anyone who wants to soak and relax at their own pace. The ion bath has a generator in the tub that creates bubbling water; it feels refreshing after enjoying the Onsen and is also highly recommended. Both the common areas and guest rooms reflect the owner’s attention to detail, creating a fun space that feels different from a typical hot-spring Ryokan. You can also access the café and shop facing Oyu Street directly from inside, making it easy to stop for tea or do some shopping.

I made a Reservation at this Accommodation because of the great Reviews. It was just as wonderful as the Reviews said, and I was very satisfied. The building is tastefully designed and offers a relaxing, comfortable space, and each dish was carefully handmade with local ingredients and tasted delicious. The hostess was also very kind and helpful. I would definitely like to stay here again.

The meals were very delicious.

The owner was very kind and took great care of me. I visited solo on a motorcycle, and they even prepared a garage for me, so I could park safely with peace of mind. The interior is a typical traditional guesthouse, but it is well maintained and feels very comfortable. And the meals were truly delicious, full of local ingredients—especially the tempura made with Japanese pepper leaves (sansho). It was my first time trying it, and it was amazing! I was completely satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. As for bathing, there are many public baths nearby, which is very convenient. They also kindly lent me shampoo and soap—too kind! I was so satisfied that the value for money almost made me worry. Highly recommended!

I stayed for one night without meals to attend an early morning event. Since it was a Friday weekday, there were only two groups of guests including myself, and the large public bath was almost like a private space. I could relax and enjoy the open-air bath as well. I chose a B-type room (with a shower), which was impeccably clean, and the welcome chocolates were a nice touch. The room had a coffee server, allowing me to enjoy coffee or tea with the provided natural water. There was also a door separating the toilet and entrance hallway from the room, which was very convenient for nighttime trips to the restroom. Additionally, indoor socks were provided along with yukata robes, making my stay very comfortable. The bedding is said to be Italian-made; the pillow had just the right firmness for me to sleep soundly. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying accommodation experience, and I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity.

The Facility is a bit dated, but it is well maintained and thoroughly cleaned, so we were able to stay comfortably. The indoor bath is also fed directly from the hot spring source, and we enjoyed it several times both morning and night. Both dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and delicately seasoned, featuring mountain ingredients and local specialties, and we left feeling very full. Thank you very much.

The place had a warm and homely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing stay. As we had heard from reviews, the meals were made with local ingredients, offering a variety of dishes that were delicious and highly satisfying. The location was also excellent, with a public Onsen just nearby.

The meals were very generous, and I felt sorry that I couldn’t finish everything. The Onsen was a comfortable, easy-to-enjoy temperature.

We stayed as a family of three. We were surprised at how beautifully maintained the spacious traditional house was. In the morning, it was cool even without air conditioning, so we could relax and sleep in. The reason for the bath rating is that we went to an Onsen outside and didn’t use it here. We’d love to come again.

Due to heavy rain the previous day, our arrival time was earlier than planned, but the staff kindly accommodated us. The meals were generous in portion, and the homemade soba by the host was delicious. As for the facilities, the room was spacious and had a clean atmosphere. One minor concern was the lack of organization in the lobby and hallways, which felt a bit cluttered. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and a great value accommodation. We stayed for one night to enjoy playing in the snow with our dog. The building is old, and the room does not have a private bathroom or toilet, but the shared facilities were renovated, very clean, and easy to use. There was also a shared refrigerator in the hallway, which was very convenient! The waffle for dogs we received upon arrival seemed delicious as our dog quickly finished it. The dog's meal had an appetizing aroma and was enjoyed thoroughly. Of course, the meals for humans were also excellent with a variety of side dishes that were more than enough to eat. Everything was incredibly delicious! The bagels at breakfast were chewy and so tasty that I became a big fan of them! I would love to have them again. The hostess's warm personality made our stay even better, and Kojiro-kun, the rescue dog there, was friendly and adorable—a truly wonderful accommodation. One small request: when laying out the futon in the room, we noticed that where parts of the flooring carpet overlapped had come undone slightly, revealing dust and debris underneath. It might be an overlooked area but would appreciate if it could be cleaned. It’s such a comfortable accommodation where we could relax fully—we loved it so much that we've already made another reservation for next month! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Despite my last-minute Reservation during the off-season, you responded with great care. I believe I was the only guest, but both the Room and the bath were very comfortable. Having a washbasin in the Room was convenient.

This Accommodation offered pleasantly attentive service with just the right amount of distance, and we had a very comfortable stay. If you check the Facility details and amenities on the website in advance, I think you’ll find the price and service extremely satisfying. That said, the final road leading to the Accommodation is quite narrow, which was a bit nerve-racking… We booked a standard two-meal Plan, and both meals were delicious with plenty of river fish. It was my first time trying yamame trout sashimi, and even my son—who usually doesn’t like sashimi—was surprised and said, “I can eat this.” Also, just as other Reviews said, the kimchi (kakuteki) was outstanding. The bath at this Accommodation is not an Onsen, but there are 13 unique public baths just outside. Because of that, I felt that having an in-house bath where you can soak slowly at a comfortable temperature is definitely a plus. For rating purposes, however—since this is an Accommodation in Nozawa Onsen Village but not an Onsen—I deducted one star. Overall, this is an Accommodation with a very high level of satisfaction.
