For 200 years since its founding, Yorozuya has been cherished by generations of guests.With an Onsen flow rate of 253 liters per minute—the largest in Yudanaka Onsen—and three private hot spring sources, it offers an exceptional bathing experience. Among them, the grand bathhouse “Momoyama Bath” is a registered Tangible Cultural Property, featuring a magnificent all-wood temple-style structure. Opened on September 2, 2007. Named “Masuichi Kyakuden” from the owner’s wish: “We would have loved to welcome you into our own home…”. Designed by architect John Morford—who also designed “Kurabu” and the main store of Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery—this Accommodation is his vision of where he would want to stay when visiting Obuse. Centered around three earthen storehouses relocated from a long-established sugar wholesaler in Nagano, it comprises seven wooden buildings, with interiors fully furnished in Western style.

The hotel, located at the foot of Shiga Kogen, is convenient as a base for sightseeing to Zenkoji, Obuse, and Matsushiro. Renowned for its Onsen sourced from the famous Hoshikawa Onsen, it offers abundant water with a soft texture that is highly praised. Rooms range from 10 to 18 tatami mats, including special rooms with excellent views. Guests can enjoy karaoke for free. Choose your favorite dishes from the Japanese, Western, and Chinese buffet.

The Japanese garden with only 6 properties offers a relaxing space illuminated by over 100 soft lamps. All guests are gifted 30 minutes of free private bath use, ensuring a private stay. It serves as the office for "Madarao Jazz," and jazz concerts are held at the pension in November and March. The area is bustling with skiers and hikers exploring the Shinetsu Trail.
