Long ago, rapeseed was pressed here and oil was carried from this place, where people gathered around lantern light in peaceful companionship. With time, a bathhouse was built to warm days of therapeutic bathing, and today this inn has expanded the pleasures of hot-spring touring for travelers. Aburaya Tosen is a place to slow down, linger unhurriedly, and stay awhile.
The hotel, located at the foot of Shiga Kogen, is convenient as a base for sightseeing to Zenkoji, Obuse, and Matsushiro. Renowned for its Onsen sourced from the famous Hoshikawa Onsen, it offers abundant water with a soft texture that is highly praised.
