I had wanted—at least once—to step into Salon Yamasato, the private lobby lounge at Koshinosato. I’ve felt that way for the past 10 years. As we reached our 60th birthdays as a couple, we decided to make a Reservation to mark this milestone. We truly loved the cuisine, amenities, and atmosphere. We were deeply impressed by the high-quality dining—it was exceptional in every way. This Accommodation offered impeccable hospitality throughout our stay. Also, the macarons and gelato at Kaho’s salon were absolutely top-class—so delicious we couldn’t stop. The flavor stayed with us, and we kept wondering what brand they were from. We strongly feel again that we want to stay here another time. Thank you very much. The concierge staff were also incredibly kind—the best.

Museum-like decorations were displayed throughout the property, making it a delight to look around. The meals were excellent, and the staff’s service was truly satisfying.

We visited with my son’s family. Traveling with our 8-month-old baby, we had some concerns, but even though we made Reservations for two Rooms on different dates, the staff kindly arranged for us to dine together and showed thoughtful care in many situations, which made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you very much—it became a wonderful memory. My son’s family also said they would like to come again, and we hope to visit again as well.

I traveled with my mother in her 80s. The staff, the meals, and the baths—everything exceeded our expectations. My mother was very happy too. We had a Multiple Night Stay, and they made sure the meals didn’t repeat, and everything was delicious. If I had one request, since it was a hot summer, I would have appreciated a refrigerator with a freezer compartment to freeze ice packs (it was refrigerator-only).

I stayed in Room 311 in GATEI, and the tatami floor creaked a lot, so it might bother some people. Other than that, everything was very good. The bath was hot and kept me warm afterward, which felt great. There is a sauna, but no cold plunge pool, so you can’t use it the same way as a typical public bathhouse. The sulfur Onsen had quite a strong smell, though I thought that added to the atmosphere in its own way. The smell does linger throughout the Hotel, though. I only had breakfast, but it was very satisfying—especially the miso soup.

All the staff were kind, and the property was clean. The Hotel did feel a bit dated. Breakfast and dinner were both very delicious—much better than I expected for the price. The Niigata rice was especially good. The complimentary snacks and drinks in the lounge were also nice. Roasting marshmallows over the irori at night was fun. The large public bath and open-air bath, fed by a private hot spring source, were excellent as well. However, it seemed a little different from Tsukioka Onsen’s typical emerald-green water with a thin oily film on the surface. Maybe there is a lot of added water? I’m not sure. Even so, considering the value for money, meals, various services, and how kind the staff were, I think it’s a good Hotel. Thank you for taking care of us. The town area of Tsukioka Onsen is beautifully maintained and very pleasant. It’s an Onsen I would definitely like to visit again.

This was my fifth visit to Tsukioka Onsen. It was my first stay at Akebono, but Tsukioka Onsen has excellent water quality, and Akebono’s baths were great as well. Since I stayed on the last day of a three-day weekend, it was quiet, and I could enjoy the spacious baths at a relaxed pace. The dinner looked like it would be neither too much nor too little in the photos at the time of Reservation, but in reality it was quite generous and left me very full. Everything was delicious. For breakfast, the side dishes felt like they were meant to go with rice, but they were also tasty—I even had seconds. The rice itself was excellent too, just as you’d expect from Niigata, famous for its rice.
