A wood-grain villa, “YURA/SHIRABE,” nestled among the lush trees of Karuizawa. Its name comes from “1/f fluctuation”—a soothing, comfortable rhythm found in nature and in human biological cycles, said to promote relaxation. This subtle “fluctuation” is present in many calming phenomena: heartbeats and brainwaves, a gentle breeze, the flicker of flames, and musical melodies. “YURA/SHIRABE” is a place to surrender to nature’s rhythm and gently bring mind and body into harmony. We hope you can quietly let go of everyday noise and restore your natural balance in an extraordinary setting. That wish is what inspired this villa.

Enjoy an exclusive private getaway in a villa crafted by master carpenters, with mountain views from the garden. Bring your own food and drinks; gas BBQ and hot pot party equipment are available to borrow free of charge.
