In Ikaho, we are one of the few hot spring Accommodations where you can enjoy two types of waters: “Kodakara-no-Yu,” traditionally said to be beneficial for women; “Kogane-no-Yu” (Golden Hot Spring), said to be good for recuperation; and “Shirogane-no-Yu” (Silver Hot Spring), said to promote health. Since the distant Muromachi period, the Onsen for therapeutic purposes has flourished and been cherished for five hundred years, and even today, the onsen village of Shima Tamura continues to be loved. With only 4 rooms, the fewest in Ikaho, our Property ensures a relaxing stay for our guests. Each room is uniquely designed so that even if you visit us four times, you can enjoy a completely different experience each time. For dinner, we offer "Joshu Obanzai," where you can choose from three main dishes. Our Onsen features two distinct baths themed around wood and stone, available for private use. A nostalgic, gentle, and tranquil space and time... yet with a touch of modernity. We welcome you with the unique "hospitality" of a small-scale Ryokan that values the perfect balance of closeness with our guests.

Located in the quietest area of the canyon in the secluded part of Shima Onsen, this Property features six Rooms and three free private Onsen baths, offering the luxury of Shima Onsen's pure, unaltered hot spring water. Meals include local ingredients such as Joshu beef, Mugibuta pork, and Akagi chicken, along with an abundance of fresh vegetables. Guests can enjoy dishes like irori-grilled specialties, Joshu's famous yaki-manju, and okirikomi noodles, all served in generous portions. Additionally, there are Plans featuring onsen-steamed dishes or lighter options, such as Joshu beef on a teppan grill or shabu-shabu with Gunma's specialty fish, Gin-Hikari. The Rooms include traditional Japanese-style accommodations as well as two artist Rooms featuring twin Japanese-style beds. These Rooms showcase works by local artists from Nakanojo Town, allowing guests to experience the essence of Nakanojo and Shima Onsen. Enhance your usual travel experience with a unique stay in these one-of-a-kind Rooms.

We take pride in our Onsen, a variety of baths, and handmade cuisine crafted without relying on pre-made products (limited to a set number per day). Guests can enjoy five private baths at no additional charge. All baths feature free-flowing Onsen water. You are welcome to use the hinoki wood family bath or the stone family bath freely. The natural Onsen water is colorless, odorless, and sourced directly from our private spring on-site, flowing continuously (free-flowing source). Notably, Gennoyu and Koshiburo Ichinoyu are supplied directly through natural gravity as they are located lower than the spring source. Please note that as this is a wooden building, there is no elevator; guests will need to use stairs. Meals are served in the dining area. For stays of three nights or more, meals from the third night onward will repeat the menu from the first and second nights. We regret that we cannot accommodate changes to meal content (including allergies or preferences). All rooms and indoor areas are non-smoking, including electronic cigarettes.
