Kobuntei was constructed within Kairakuen Garden by Tokugawa Nariaki, the 9th feudal lord of the Mito Domain, as a scenic retreat of Mito Castle. It served as a venue for hosting gatherings of poets, scholars, retainers, and local residents, celebrating poetry and longevity. Tokiwa-tei M-GARDEN was designed with the thought, "What would the 9th feudal lord Nariaki create if he were alive today?" This residence, located overlooking Lake Senba adjacent to Tokiwa Shrine and Kairakuen Garden, offers a luxurious space where history and nature can be felt.
