Tsuruya is an Accommodation with tatami flooring throughout. As the tea ceremony flourished from the Azuchi–Momoyama period onward, tatami came to cover entire Rooms, and Japanese people began sitting in seiza.Beyond tea ceremony, many Japanese arts ending in “-do”—such as calligraphy, flower arrangement, and judo—are deeply connected to tatami, which is considered a foundation that helped shape the Japanese spirit.Space, cuisine, and hospitality—this is what a Ryokan offers as it embraces the beauty of Japan’s four seasons in every detail.
