I stayed at Hanaikada. The staff’s hospitality and attention to every detail made me truly glad I chose this Accommodation. I was able to relax, and both the meals and the baths were wonderful. Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking care of us during our Multiple Night Stay. I was once again impressed to see the owner leading the way and working hard from early in the morning. The soba was truly delicious, and I was disappointed that I couldn’t have it for dinner on the second night. To the person who kindly accommodated my request as someone who likes sweet alcoholic drinks, I was really looking forward to enjoying them on the second night. The freshly cooked rice was wonderful! The soy sauce with an egg-like flavor is becoming a staple in our home. This is an Accommodation we’re excited to visit again. Thank you very much.

The meals were beautifully presented, and everything tasted truly delicious. They were a delight to look at as well, and you could feel the care put into each dish. The Room was also thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. The staff kindly answered our questions, which helped us learn about the origins of Kaminoyama Onsen and plan our sightseeing. My spouse loved it too and said we would like to stay again for the meals. We had a relaxing, comfortable stay and it was a wonderful time.

The Accommodation is pleasantly small, making it convenient to get to the restaurant and the baths. A fireplace welcomes you in both winter and summer. The free space on the second floor is stylish, and the Room is clean and beautiful. The meals are always enjoyable and delicious. For me in my 60s, it’s just the right size, with just the right amount of food—an exceptionally comfortable Accommodation.

We chose the assigned Room, and it was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely courteous, offering us drinks and even taking photos for us after checkout, which made us feel truly welcomed. As part of the Accommodation was under renovation, they apologized for any inconvenience and even gave us some sweets. We would definitely like to stay again.

I was impressed by the staff’s drive to improve. I was especially amazed by the chef’s thorough attention to detail—even down to the choice of serving dishes. I was also struck by the president’s wonderful spirit when I previously stayed at Takinami, and it’s simply incredible that an even more upgraded Accommodation has been created. I would love to visit again and enjoy your outstanding, carefully crafted cuisine. Thank you very much.

Both the indoor bath and the bath in our Room were fed directly from the source, and we were able to relax and fully enjoy the free-flowing hot spring water while taking in the gentle scent of sulfur—it was incredibly soothing for both body and mind. The atmosphere of the Accommodation was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed every aspect of this long-established Onsen inn. All of the dishes were delicious. In particular, the Yonezawa beef nigiri we had at dinner was so exceptional that we ended up ordering more. We were also impressed by how kind and attentive all of the staff were. The meat served with our meal was so good that when we asked for a recommended local butcher shop, they kindly gave us detailed information—thanks to them, we were able to stop by on our way home and buy some as souvenirs!

Because we moved our trip home forward at short notice, we ended up making a Reservation the day before. From welcome to farewell, everyone at the Accommodation greeted us with warm smiles throughout. The meals—both dinner and breakfast—were just the right portions for us as a couple in our 60s, and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the local cuisine, steak, local sake, and local wine—it was wonderful. The younger staff also chatted with us while explaining the dishes, and our Room was quiet and relaxing, making it a great memory. If I had to mention anything, it would be nice to have two Room keys, and I would have preferred a lighter down comforter. Thank you very much.

I visited with a friend who loves traveling. This was my third stay, and as always, the food was excellent, and the Onsen was amazing. My friend, visiting for the first time, also enjoyed it and went to the bath twice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I booked dinner mainly for the beef sukiyaki, but every other dish was delicious as well. Breakfast was also great, and I had an extra serving of rice. I also appreciated the complimentary coffee. Both dinner and breakfast were generous portions, and I was very satisfied. The Room is a bit old, but it is clean and comfortable. There is no toilet in the Room, but there is a sink, so it didn’t feel inconvenient. The bath was relaxing too. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made me feel truly happy. I would love to visit again.

I’m a Yamagata resident. I was satisfied with both the food and the Onsen. The breakfast and dinner buffets were especially outstanding. The ramen served at the breakfast buffet and the beef bowl with Yonezawa beef were exceptional. At the dinner buffet, the handmade soba was particularly delicious. There was also imoni, which visitors from outside the prefecture may enjoy, but locals will enjoy it even more. The Accommodation rate was affordable, and you can enjoy wonderful food and an Onsen at a great price. I’m glad I stayed here. I’ll be back.

Although the building is old, it is very well cleaned and the hospitality is excellent, so I think this is an Accommodation you can be truly satisfied with. It was also fun and nostalgic to be able to contact the front desk using a telephone you don’t see these days—perhaps making good use of the property’s vintage charm. One small thing: the yukata brought to me because the size didn’t fit had a slight odor that concerned me a bit. That said, I may simply be overly sensitive. In any case, the service is outstanding, and every staff member provided wonderful hospitality. I was deeply impressed by their thoughtful attention to detail. By chance there was a festival that day and we were able to watch fireworks; they even told us the best viewing spot, which made it a great memory. Thank you very much. As for the meals, the rice was cooked perfectly and delicious. The side dishes were excellent as well, but especially how good the rice was stood out. One suggestion: if the green onions in the breakfast miso soup could be lightly cooked in advance, then warming it at the table would make it even tastier—I felt they sometimes didn’t cook through enough with table heating alone. Still, overall everything was extremely delicious. This is an Accommodation I will definitely want to stay at again when I visit Kaminoyama Onsen.

We stayed here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, traveling with my spouse, our dog, and my mother. It had been about 10 years since our last visit, and I’m truly glad we came back. At check-in, they had prepared a special anniversary surprise for us, which was very moving. The front desk staff were all so friendly and welcoming that it made us feel genuinely warm inside. At dinner, we also received congratulations from the proprietress; we felt humbled but very happy. The Onsen is available at all times except during the men’s/women’s rotation, and the water quality is excellent—leaving us warm all over with smooth skin. Both dinner and breakfast were generous in portion size, and we were fully satisfied to enjoy delicious Yonezawa beef and freshly pounded mochi. Our Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. By chance there was a fireworks festival that day, and we were lucky enough to watch it from our Room. The service floor has a microwave as well, which was helpful for warming up our dog’s meals. We also appreciated being able to relax in the lobby with a good cup of coffee on departure morning. At check-out we enjoyed chatting with the front desk staff again, and they saw us off with smiles until the very end. My mother—who hadn’t traveled in quite some time—was delighted too, so choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision for us. Thank you very much. We would love to return again.

The service was courteous, and the meals were excellent. I especially enjoyed the simple yet Western-style pot-au-feu and would love to have it again. The bath was also very good (I soaked four times). As someone who usually stays at Business Hotels, this reminded me how great an Onsen Accommodation can be.

My spouse and I stayed on 8/5. The Ryokan is located around the middle of the Akayu Onsen town. When we arrived at the entrance on a quiet midsummer afternoon, a lovely proprietress warmly welcomed us. The artworks displayed throughout were truly beautiful and valuable—nostalgic yet mysterious—and it felt like visiting a hidden museum surrounded by mountains. The Onsen baths included a Roman-style bath and a rock bath. Everything was kept very clean, with an artistic atmosphere, and the water was pleasantly hot—it really seemed to help with stiff shoulders and nerve pain. The shower pressure was also excellent. We ate nearby this time, but we heard they offer carefully curated menus. And the Room: a spacious Japanese-style Room, welcome tea and sweets, and a large TV—absolutely satisfying. I also saw comments from others saying the Facility and building feel old, but that’s exactly what makes it special. I hope it can remain as it is for as long as possible. It was an old-fashioned, artistic Ryokan where we could truly relax and feel healed. Thank you very much!

It’s conveniently located for sightseeing, and the spacious Room is a real highlight. Even though it’s a tatami-style Room, the chairs and table are set at a comfortable height, making it perfect for getting work done on a business trip! The bath was wonderfully warming as well. Among the private baths available, the open-air bath with the best view is on the rooftop. Since there is no indoor bath, it may be quite challenging to use in winter—it takes some courage. That said, it offers a beautiful snowy-view bath experience. I think it has its own charm that’s different from summer scenery.

It was a traditional Ryokan with a sense of history. The hinoki wood bath was also excellent.

Thank you very much for your flexible support. All of the staff were friendly, kind, and attentive, and we had a very comfortable stay. We were able to rent a yukata for our dog—something she rarely gets to wear—and took some adorable photos. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Because our stay was on a tight schedule, we couldn’t go fishing this time, but our dog happily ran around in the spacious dog run, and we were very satisfied with our stay at this Accommodation. When we visit Nanyo or Shirataka again, we would definitely like to stay here again.
