Originally established in 1914, this historic Ryokan was completely destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake. Five years later, it was rebuilt and reopened near the Sanriku Expressway Kesennuma Central IC, making it convenient for travelers by car. The interior has been designed with cleanliness and accessibility in mind, creating a comfortable living space. With only six rooms, we strive to provide personalized "hospitality." Hotel Ikkeikaku, which reopened two years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, is located right in front of Kesennuma Fish Market, offering a panoramic view of the changing Kesennuma. Relax and unwind in our spacious rooms. We also feature an artificial radium Onsen called "Amaterasu Onsen," perfect for a refreshing morning bath. For dining, we offer luxurious dishes such as shark fin steamed egg custard with sauce and shark fin rice cooked with bonito flakes. Part of the first-floor lobby serves as a gallery showcasing the history of Kesennuma and hope for its future.
After the disaster in 2011, the fisherman's property "Isomura" reopened in August 2018. Boasting hospitality from a staff composed of local residents and exquisite meals made with fresh ingredients from Kesennuma, it is one of Kesennuma's premier culinary properties.
