A majestic Yakusugi cedar tree, over 2,000 years old and now extremely rare, stands as the guardian of the house, surrounded by calligraphy works created by renowned calligrapher Rieko Kawabe specifically for this home. Inside, guests can experience the passage of time through high-resolution audio of forest and river sounds, crafted from the pristine natural environments of Japan, reflecting seasonal changes as well as the transitions of morning, afternoon, and evening. The semi-open-air bath overlooking the sea features a tub made from solid domestic Japanese cypress, filled with carbonated nano-bubble spring water. For the main bedding, we use futons made with natural horsehair, now a rarity, offering a uniquely balanced firmness for an unparalleled sleeping experience.
