Hidden Retreat Shirakawa Gensen Sanso Takefue is set on an expansive 5,000-tsubo property, featuring only 12 private villas and a spa building, along with 30 natural hot spring baths flowing directly from our own sources. In 1966, with the construction of a new main building, it began operations as the current Yama no Hotel Musouen. Among the uniquely charming Ryokans of Yufuin Onsen, Musouen is located on an elevated area on the southern side of the Yufuin Basin, offering a panoramic view of the majestic Mount Yufu and the Yufuin Basin. Yunohira Onsen is a nostalgic hot spring town adorned with stone-paved streets and lanterns, taking you back in time to the charm of old Japan. Our inn is located atop the hill at the end of the stone-paved path. The accommodations include two detached Rooms with private indoor baths and one Room in the main building, totaling three spacious Japanese-Western style Rooms. The Onsen facilities feature a handcrafted Goemon bath and a stone bath, both available for private use. After soaking leisurely in the Onsen and strolling along the stone-paved streets, enjoy a traditional kaiseki meal featuring local Oita cuisine.
