Located at the foot of Mount "Waita" in Kokonoe Town, Oita Prefecture, within a 3,000-tsubo riverside property, it features 10 fully detached cottages with open-air baths (5 pet-friendly), a management building, and a shared open-air rock bath.

Our facility boasts the largest bathing area in Kurokawa Onsen, featuring 4 spacious indoor baths, 3 open-air baths, and 2 private baths—all offering gentle, mildly alkaline spring water directly sourced from the Onsen. For meals, our two head chefs specializing in Japanese and Western cuisine carefully select ingredients from all over Kyushu to create dishes that delight all your senses.

About 1.5–2 hours by car from Fukuoka, Kumamoto, or Oita, this is a quiet sukiya-style Accommodation where you can hear the gentle murmur of the Tsue-tate River just outside. Beyond the windows stretch primeval forest and a gorge—scenery that changes with the seasons and can be enjoyed exclusively from your Room.At dinner, all drinks are included in the price. Toast with draft beer, then compare Kyushu shochu—sweet potato, barley, and rice. Sake, plum wine, highballs, and sours are also available without worrying about extra charges. The cuisine focuses on seasonal ingredients from Kyushu, featuring dishes such as a tasting of Bungo beef and Higo beef, wagyu teppanyaki, sukiyaki, and other chef’s specialties. From 15:00 to 18:00 after arrival and from 7:00 to 10:00 in the morning, enjoy Japanese tea, yuzu honey drinks, and coffee made with natural water at the lounge “Keyaki,” free of charge.For Onsen bathing, you are free to enjoy four Facilities within the Hizenya group. In addition to “East Bath” and “West Bath” surrounded by nature, there are “Bungo Bath” and “Higo Bath” in the main building—and a separate Onsen annex “Kissho-no-Yu,” featuring five open-air baths only. Admission to Kissho-no-Yu (normally JPY 1,600 per adult) is included with all Plans.About 200 meters away at the main building Hizenya you’ll also find bowling lanes, table tennis، an arcade game area، and an outdoor pool open in summer only. Our story began when an Onsen sprang forth after we dug at a place seen in a dream. We named it “Yume no Yu” and started with a single small inn—this is the origin of our Accommodation (Oda Onsen). Also enshrined here to this day is the “Ryujin Tree” (dragon-shaped tree roots), which was also seen in that same dream. A small rural farming village has since become a mountain Onsen retreat.
