Around Murakami Pirate Museum × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan

From the moment we were picked up, the hospitality had already begun. We were completely satisfied with everything—from the guidance along the way to the warm welcome after arrival. Of course, we also enjoyed delicious meals. In the morning, we woke up to a ship’s whistle. The ever-changing view of the tides was truly soothing. We would love to visit again in another season.

The Room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the large public bath was great. However, since there was only one elevator, it got very crowded during peak check-in and check-out times, and we sometimes had to wait quite a while, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the hallway was hot—I wish there had been air conditioning in the corridors as well. Still, considering the value for money, it’s an excellent Hotel! I’d love to stay here again when I visit Imabari.

After having lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant on Hakatajima Island along the Shimanami Kaido, I visited two of the extra temples associated with Temple No. 88 before checking in. The display of miniature ship replicas is wonderful—perfect for a shipbuilding town. The bathroom fixtures are also set up to international standards, and it was fun that the faucet handles are reversed. I was also happy to find authentic Chinese cuisine on B1F at reasonable prices for dinner. This is probably my fifth stay here.

Not only is it close to JR Imabari Station, it is also the final stop of the Shimanami Kaido bus from Fukuyama, making it very convenient for getting around. There is also a large, popular spa nearby for cyclists, and discount coupons are available. I would love to stay here again as a base for exploring the Shimanami Kaido.

I had an important engagement and stopped by your city for the first time in four years on my way back from a business trip, and stayed one night. Because I felt more wear and tear than expected at the flagship Hotel where I stayed on my previous visit, I was looking for another option in the convenient city center when I found this Hotel. It is close to the station, with easy access to limousine buses, local buses, and taxis, so I hardly felt any of the transportation inconvenience that can be common in regional cities. As it is newly opened, the Room was clean, and the view from my Room—overlooking the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and all of Imabari—was wonderful. (It would have been even better if the windows were a bit larger.) Breakfast offered a relatively wide selection and tasted good as well, and I also really appreciated the complimentary welcome drink upon arrival on a hot day. The large public bath was spacious and clean, and being able to gaze at the night view through a large, beautiful window helped me unwind from the day’s fatigue and feel refreshed. It’s great that Imabari now has such a good Hotel. One point to note—not as something good or bad—is that there seem to be many international guests. I work in an international field so it didn’t bother me at all, but some people may feel unsettled seeing many overseas visitors in places like the lobby or large public bath in a regional city like Imabari. That said, during my stay there were no guests with poor manners.

The meals were exceptionally delicious and luxurious. Choosing this option was absolutely the right decision! The room was clean, and a Dyson humidifier was provided, so I stayed very comfortably. The amenities were well stocked, and I was happy they had Sekkisei. There were many kinds of bath salts, and it was fun choosing one. All the towels—even the hand towels served with meals—were Imabari towels. At the vending machines on the 4th floor, you could buy beer, chu-hai, and highballs in addition to soft drinks. When I visit again, I’d love to stay here again—it’s an Accommodation I’d also recommend to others.

In spring, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom around the Accommodation and at the Kurushima Kaikyo Observatory, making it truly beautiful. From the Japanese-style Room, the large windows were wonderful—you could even enjoy an ocean view while lying on the futon—and the Room amenities and equipment showed thoughtful attention to detail. Needless to say, the food was outstanding! All of the staff were kind and very pleasant, too. Next time—whether for a celebration, an anniversary, or simply to refresh—I want to find any excuse to stay here again.

They have both standard Rooms and a capsule floor with semi-private pods, so I stayed on the capsule floor for something different. Since it was a weekday, there was no one in the row next to me—nice and quiet.\n\nOn the same floor as the front desk, the indoor bath, drink corner, and massage chairs were all close by, which actually felt very convenient.\n\nThey even served jakoten as a late-night snack and offered a welcome drink—overall, the service was quite good.\n\nAfter enjoying both the indoor bath and the massage chairs, I went to sleep. They also lend out pillows. The capsule itself was very comfortable.\n\nBreakfast was buffet-style. With curry and sausages available, that alone is perfect for me. They also had granola.\n\nThere’s only a Hotel and a convenience store nearby, but they lend bicycles for free, so I could easily ride to a supermarket that’s a bit farther away.

My spouse and I stayed in a Deluxe Double. The bed was spacious enough for an average Japanese build, and we slept very well. There are vending machines inside the Hotel where you can buy alcohol and simple snacks. As for parking, the space next to the Hotel is narrow and fills up quickly, but there is a slightly larger area about one block away. I was worried after checking Street View whether there really was free parking, so it would be nice if the website provided clearer guidance. However, when we parked on the street that day and asked at the front desk, they kindly explained it to us, so it wasn’t a problem. It’s a very typical Business Hotel, and it was comfortable. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that the TV is fixed to the wall and its HDMI port is only accessible from behind, so I couldn’t plug in my laptop or smartphone to display anything (even though there’s an input button on the remote...).

My cycling trip at an advanced age—traveling with my son. The gently seasoned meals were kind to my tired body, suited me very well, and I thought they were excellent. The seawater bath was also wonderful. A moment before bedtime. The head chef’s beautifully toned flute performance. Bravo. If I ever ride again... will that happen? If so, I would love to stay here again.

The Room’s interior, Facilities, size, and location were all excellent. I wish I could end my review there, but there was one very disappointing issue. On the morning of the third day (Saturday) of our two-night stay, I found a spider about 10 cm in diameter in the bathroom during a morning bath. The spider itself may have come in when opening or closing the door or windows, and given the natural surroundings—and since I noticed it right before checkout—it wasn’t a major problem. The real issue was what came next. Since new guests might be staying that day, and some people may dislike insects or small children might encounter it (it was large enough to surprise even me), I worried it could ruin their trip. I called the published phone number, but only reached an automated message saying it was outside business hours. I also checked the pre-stay email guidance but couldn’t find any emergency contact information. I understand this Accommodation operates differently from a Ryokan or Hotel, but for situations where guests need to contact someone immediately during their stay (it doesn’t have to be public), there should at least be an emergency contact number provided to guests. In this case, I hope housekeeping removed the spider so the next guests could stay comfortably. However, please recognize that not being able to resolve urgent issues smoothly by phone can potentially ruin a trip, and consider setting up proper emergency contact arrangements. As mentioned at the start, this is an excellent Facility overall—but this one drawback alone makes me hesitate to book again.

When asked, “How was it?”, I’d say, “I want to live here!” The food was delicious, the Onsen was wonderfully relaxing, and best of all, the ocean was right in front of us— even lying on the bed, we could watch ships passing by. It was an amazing time. My husband woke up before 5 a.m. and went fishing on the private beach right in front of us, and he seemed very satisfied. The staff were also very kind, and it became a wedding anniversary filled with wonderful memories.

I arrived late and had given up on finding parking, but the front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate my request. Thank you. 　The Hotel was also very clean. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance to stay in Imabari.

The staff were kind and attentive. I was able to spend a relaxing holiday. If you don’t expect too much from the bath or amenities, you’ll be satisfied. The Facility was also kept clean. Thank you!

The boat platter with spiny lobster looked like a lot, and I wondered if I could finish it, but it was so delicious that I ate it all in no time. Their signature nanbanzuke was also excellent. I’d love to stay again.

This was my first time staying here, and the Facility was well equipped, so I had a very comfortable stay. I was able to forget about work and relax while watching the sunset and sunrise, and I truly felt refreshed. I was also impressed by the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea as seen from the cabin. I’ve been to various glamping sites, but so far this is the best. The only reason I deducted one point is that the shower area in the bathroom is a bit small. Next time, I’d like to try a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much.

The seafood-focused dishes were truly delicious. I was able to fully enjoy the professional craftsmanship, from the delicate seasoning to the careful attention paid even to the temperature of the tableware. The Facility is old, but it is thoroughly cleaned, and you can enjoy a charming Showa-era retro atmosphere. The bedding was also fluffy and thick, and I was able to sleep soundly. I would love to celebrate my birthday here again next year.

We used the accommodation for sightseeing by car on three islands in Ehime. It was difficult to find an accommodation with meals included, especially the day before our stay, but we were lucky to secure a reservation. The price was very reasonable, and although we didn’t expect luxurious meals initially, the food provided exceeded our expectations and was incredibly satisfying. The dishes included sashimi, simmered sea bream head, fried sea bream, side dishes, and more. We were amazed that the sea bream rice was all-you-can-eat! Not only for dinner but also for breakfast, sea bream rice was served—such variety at such an affordable price is unbelievable. If we have another chance, we would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

Everything—the Room, the bath, and the meals—was excellent, but above all, the staff were truly outstanding. Even though we caused you trouble with changes to the Shuttle Service pickup location due to our circumstances and issues such as a locker malfunction in the bath area, you responded with great kindness. My daughter and I kept saying how glad we were that we stayed here. Thank you very much. We expect to visit the island several more times in the future, so we will continue to stay at your Accommodation.
