Opened in 2006, with a detached suite added in April 2011. The Iya Valley, where the Iya River flows from Mount Tsurugi and carves a V-shape into the Shikoku Mountains, offers breathtakingly majestic gorge scenery. "Keikoku no Kakure Yado Iya Bijin" is a Property with an Onsen and a soba restaurant, located right in front of this lush green valley and clear stream. Originally opened in 1975 as a handmade soba restaurant using local buckwheat and spring water, the Property later added 8 Rooms and a detached accommodation to provide visitors to Iya with a more relaxing and leisurely stay. All Rooms are equipped with open-air baths, allowing guests to fully enjoy the Onsen while admiring the stunning views. For meals, indulge in unique dishes featuring local river fish and vegetables, or gather around the irori hearth for hot pot and charcoal-grilled delicacies. To finish, savor our specialty Iya soba. An open-air bath is situated at the bottom of the valley, approximately 170 meters down via cable car, where you can soak while enjoying the stunning views of the gorge. The panoramic bath overlooking the clear Yoshino River is popular, and day-use bathing is also available. Next to the entrance, there is a literary monument of the writer Fumiko Hayashi, who stayed here before the war, with photos and autographs displayed inside the Property. Recommended nearby sightseeing includes the "Kurozo Marsh," known as the "Oze of the West," about 30 minutes by car from the Property. This rare wetland plant community is designated as a natural monument of the prefecture due to its large scale and diverse plant species. Particularly famous is the "Sagiso," a flower resembling a white egret spreading its wings, which grows naturally here. During the summer blooming season, many enthusiasts visit. Other nearby attractions include Oboke, Iya Valley, rafting, and athletic activities. The Property is also popular among pilgrims as accommodation for the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. It is conveniently used for visiting nearby temples such as the 66th Unpenji, 65th Sankakuji, 15th Betsugaku Hashikuraji, and 14th Tsubakido.
