Opened in Horiuchi, Hagi City, as the first one-building-rental Hotel in Japan located on the site of a former domain school. The Property is situated on the grounds where the Choshu domain school "Meirinkan" once stood, where Yoshida Shoin served as an instructor and gave lectures. The Horiuchi area, where the Property is located, is designated as a "Traditional Buildings Preservation District," preserving remnants of the old castle town to this day.
