The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, which became a Tenryo (directly governed land) in 1632, still vividly preserves the atmosphere of its past. The area is lined with merchant houses featuring lattice windows and walls with traditional honeycomb patterns, while the black-tiled rooftops create a striking silhouette against the sky. Its timeless charm continues to captivate visitors.Kurashiki Inn is located in the heart of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. "Misaka no Ie" is a small Property restored and revitalized by the NPO Kurashiki Machiya Trust as the first machiya restoration project. With financial support from many supporters, as well as assistance from members, local residents, and volunteers, it was completed in November of Heisei 19. Toto Kurashiki Mingeikan Minami Accommodation consists of three Accommodations—“Riverside Accommodation,” “Inner Accommodation,” and “Rear Accommodation”—created by restoring a building long used as a medical clinic into an Accommodation.“Riverside Accommodation” is a renovated attic space in a Meiji-era building that served as a clinic for many years. Enjoy views of the Kurashiki River from the window.“Inner Accommodation” offers a calm atmosphere with tatami mats and shoji screens, with views of the Kurashiki Mingeikan to the north and Mingei Plaza to the south.“Rear Accommodation” sits slightly set back from the main street, offering pleasant borrowed scenery through its windows.Located between the Kurashiki Mingeikan and the Japan Folk Toy Museum, this is a place where you can feel history and culture through its connections with neighboring Facilities—please enjoy a relaxing stay.
