At the end of the Edo period, Arima Onsen was so bustling that it was known as "Arima Senken." Most of these had shops selling souvenirs, brushes, bamboo crafts, and other items on the first floor, with the upper floors serving as Koyado. Traces of this structure can still be seen today.
