My spouse and I stay here every year, but this year we invited my elderly mother and came as three. The spacious Room on the 6th floor was our first time, and the view was wonderful and stylish. My mother loved it, and I am truly grateful that we were able to make a meaningful trip for her.

Thank you very much for everything. This is a wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy both the gold and silver Onsen. Not only are the baths spacious, they are also kept extremely clean, making for a truly relaxing and rejuvenating time. The Shuttle Service staff, as well as all team members, were excellent, and the in-Room dining was delicious—there is nothing to complain about. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we will stay here. This was my first time visiting Arima Onsen. I booked a good-value Plan with a lighter meal, but there was so much food that I’m sorry I couldn’t finish it all. The Onsen tickets were included, so I could enjoy other Onsens as well—it was wonderful. The Shuttle Service to the bus stop was very helpful. All the staff were very kind, and I was truly impressed. I would love to visit again.

This is my second stay at Hanakoyado. I became a repeat guest because this is where you find the answer to whether high-quality Onsen and gourmet dining can truly be enjoyed at a reasonable price. The traditional wooden building and tiled bath are full of classic Onsen atmosphere. Even more luxuriously, the Kinsen flows continuously, and when you sink into the tub, the overflowing water swirls as it runs off. I also enjoyed a steam bath using the high-temperature source spring. The rice cooked in the okudosan is delicious, and the fish and meat carefully grilled over charcoal with radiant heat are more than satisfying. To top it off, curry rice is served at the end as well. There is an Onsen experience and cuisine here that feel wonderfully untouched by modern times.

This was my third stay. After arriving while it was still light out, I first enjoyed Goshobo’s semi-mixed Onsen and the large public bath with its golden Onsen. Since it was summer, even a short soak left me sweating nonstop. In the large bath, I shared the water with someone for the first time here; we had a pleasant chat and ended up soaking a bit longer. Dinner was a lighter, seafood-focused course. The chilled Awaji spiny lobster soup was a perfect match with Koshu wine. The highlight began with sashimi of meita-garei flounder and aged sea bream, followed by more Akashi-ura fish to enjoy. The charcoal-grilled Spanish mackerel and the Akashi sea bream acqua pazza were both seasonal specials you can only have here at this time of year. The broth in the acqua pazza was much lighter than last autumn’s filefish version. To finish, the cheese course left me fully satisfied in both quality and quantity—thank you for the wonderful meal. For breakfast, I switched back to the standard menu: milk, soup, vegetables—an all-around delicious plate—beautiful French toast, and yogurt meant to savor the jam and honey. Everything tasted exactly as good as expected. Even the mini breads were great; this time, the buttery croissant was my favorite. In my Room bath, I topped up little by little while letting it cool slightly, enjoying a pleasantly lukewarm golden Onsen. The breeze through the window felt wonderful: lush greenery everywhere, distant summer skies, murmuring sounds of life outside—and cicadas loud enough not to lose to them. Summer Onsen really is something special. After breakfast I alternated between the golden Onsen and the low-temperature sauna. It was an extremely satisfying holiday stay. Thank you very much. P.S. I stayed here as a birthday gift for a friend. Since it is an older building, there was a slight draft and it felt a bit cold, but the food was delicious and the staff were very pleasant, so it is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but the scenery along the way is so beautiful that getting there is truly enjoyable. The moment I arrived at the Accommodation and stepped inside, I was genuinely moved by the wonderful atmosphere. Everywhere you look feels like a scene from a drama or novel—surrounded by beautiful architecture and furnishings, I was able to fully enjoy an extraordinary escape. The entire property was also impeccably clean, making my stay extremely comfortable. From my Room, I could gaze out at lush greenery, and the soothing sound of the river was so relaxing that I found myself listening for ages and losing track of time. The baths are private-use only (a large bath and a smaller bath), so I never had to share with other guests. Being able to soak in complete privacy and unwind without any hesitation was something I truly appreciated. And as for the meals—I chose a Plan with both dinner and breakfast included, and both were absolutely outstanding. For dinner, we went to Otowasanso for kaiseki cuisine. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the dashi flavors were exceptional; I was continuously impressed from start to finish by these delicate dishes unique to Japan. The attendant who explained each course was warm and attentive throughout, which made it an especially happy experience. Breakfast was served on the second floor of Meitokuan. Freshly cooked rice, rolled omelet, grilled salmon, miso soup—each item was simple yet carefully prepared, leaving me feeling satisfied in both body and mind. Both dinner and breakfast were so wonderful that I honestly wished those moments would never end. If you stay at this Accommodation, I highly recommend choosing a Plan that includes both dinner and breakfast—you won’t regret it. Lastly, this was truly a lovely Accommodation filled with thoughtful attention to detail and heartfelt hospitality beyond what I can fully describe. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. The kaiseki dinner, in particular, truly moved me—it was the most delicious I have had in years. Each dish was carefully prepared, and both the flavors and presentation were outstanding. I would highly recommend it to everyone. My sincere thanks to the head chef for preparing such an exceptional meal. The Onsen was also lovely, with a great atmosphere, and I was able to relax and unwind. However, I was a little disappointed that the women’s bathing hours were only from 17:00 to 20:00. I would have been even happier if it had been available for longer. The Room was clean and comfortable, and overall it felt like a calm, private space that I really enjoyed. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.
