There are 8 Rooms in total, each with a calm atmosphere and a gentle yuzu fragrance in the air. In the late Edo period, in the tenth year of Tenpō (1839), Izutsu-an was established as an inn for travelers and monks visiting Higashi Honganji, the head temple of the Jōdo Shinshū sect.
